FamiliarJoe
So I woke up randomly thinking about metal screens and how terrible they are..and then I thought of something (I don't know if it is a good idea or bad, that's for you to decide)Why not make a clay cap for your tangiers phunnel that fits like a cap fits on a jar (air tight always), with the perfect hole pattern in it already drilled/molded.I photoshopped a phunnel and gave it what I would imagine it to look like, roughly. Do you think this would work? Why, or why not ?
inino
there was a guy in some thread a long time ago who made some of these, said they worked great. who knows where it went though. if you can make them easily ill buy a couple!
Scoop
that was me. plans to make them available to the forum never came to fruition. i love the idea, and wish it could work but the screens we ended up making (was high quality clay, made by hand) were too fragile or too bulky. i have some good ideas to make it happen but i dont have the time to invest into doing this right now.also: good luck making it air tight. every phunnel bowl i have is different, unless youre a god with clay, it wont be air tight. doesn't need to be anyhow...worked fine without that. inino
well with the glass screens, once the top layer of tobacco gets burned a little it becomes pretty air tight, even if its not all the way when you start the bowl.

r1v3th3ad
I think thats a pretty cool idea...but durability?they would have to be made cheap because you know they are gonna be so fragile...and phunnel size...they aren't exactly consistent, so they would all have to be made different
