sponge bob
Hello, first a little background. I have been smoking my buddies hookah for about three years and have enjoyed it well enough. However, I never really got to try different brands or flavors because my friend doesnt like to stray too far away from his comfort zone. Well, I quit smoking [cigarettes] three months ago and my hookah useage jumped from twice a month to twice a week. I have now found a truly new appreciation for the hookah, shisha, atmosphere and whole experience in general. It is now more than just something to pass the time, it is now a hobby and a lifestyle. I came across this forum a while back and have been lurking ever since. The posts here are great with excellent reviews and advice. I am glad to have finally registered and hope that my posts are just as insightfull, usefull, and thought provoking as the rest here. Now, on to my current dilema.I am looking to by my own hookah. I want something to last me a very long time and looks great too. Here are some of my requirements, it should have a solid stem, not cost more than $120, be at least 26", and be of excellent build quality. Go ahead and give me your recommendations (post link if possible) and advice. Thanks, Asgar
HookahCaterpillar
My brother just bought a MYA for 120 bux. Its really nice solid stem, blue marbling kind of look on the stem too. I usually stick with egyptian style hookahs for 40-50 bux at the local hookah lounge but after hitting his hookah and seeing how solid and heavy and well made his MYA is I think im going to buy one for myself. I reccomend it highly. www.myasaray.com check them out there. They actually dont have the same one my brother bought but the brand overall makes some really well made hookahs.(minus the acrylics)
sponge bob
Hey thanks, the Mya site does not list the sizes. It also says the stem is silver plated.Asgar
HookahCaterpillar
Hm, My brothers hookah was defenitely not silver plated. I do know mya makes some strong, long lasting hookahs but I dont know a good site to buy them from.
HookahEnthusiast
id suggest the hookah from social smoke before the other one you provided a link for...just for these simple reasons: you get a 15% discount for being a member of the forum...and second there customer service and quality ranks among the best....also after reading your requirements for a new hookah i would have to reccomend either the 25'' or 32'' stargate from taqseem brand hookahs..both are very very solid and will last you a long time as well as provide a good smoke....www.taqseem.com....let us know what you decide on.. jmexx
You can always get MYA products from their site. Mention you're part of the hookah forum and they'll give you something like 10% off :)Jon

Sonthert
I would not recommend getting a wooden shank hookah, especially not at a premium price...the wood has to be kept remarkably clean...accumulation of glycerine and flavor will cause the wood to swell and split (since glycerine is absorbed by wood, but it doesn't evaporate). sponge bob
Uh, too late, already ordered. Hopefully theres plenty of laquer on the wood. The stem is solid stainless steel and the wood is just an accent. Heres the thread that details my order. Thanks, Asgar
