Woodsytheowl
I was smoking my mya chrome last weekend and the thing is ghosting really bad. Is there any way to get the flavors that have resonated into the bell out?
Hookie The Hookah
Lemon juice has been working well for me. Shake it up and let it sit for a bit.
Giant Ninja Robot
I find a lemon juice/baking soda molotov works well...seal up the stem and let that stuff pressurize for a bit.
Tikhman
10% bleach, you just have to wash out really really really well when you're done.
Hojo
Yeah, lemon juice and baking soda is great for cleaning the stem. A brush is also really good here. For the rough inside of the heart, mix up lemon juice and baking soda into a thick paste and spread it around so it coats the rough parts and really gets in there. Let it sit for a bit and rinse it out with piping hot water.
ilikemyusername
i've always done a mild solution of bleach after soaking in hot water and rinsing. works wonders for me.
Scoop
baking soda and lemon juice. but its a common chamber and its rough so you need to scrub the inside of the heart like crazy
K1024
step one: clean out with brush and warm water as well as you canstep two: pour baking soda in stemstep three: add vinegarstep four: wait for it to stop bubblingstep five: add more vinegarstep six: repeat four and five a couple of times, till the baking soda is used up.this will create little bubbles that will help clean itstep seven: wash with bleachbleach will kill most germs in thererinse very well, and if it smells good smoke. if it smells bad you can either keep rinsing, or set it in the sun for a few hours and the bleach will go away.this is the process i use for cleaning my hookah, my saxophone mouthpiece, and how i cleaned the used fish tank i had. it will work, believe you me! K1024
i kinda agree with you, in that beer or vodka will probably get the taste out decently, but its not going to help to much with getting everything off of the hookah...

Click
I use beer as well. I got a whole case of Heineken that I have been using. I really don't like Heineken. Oh, that and Samuel Adams.
4d1ct3d
So, if ethanol is a great solvent, what do you think about using "pure" alcohol (that is used to desinfect open injuries) to clean a hookah?
Sonthert
Rubbing alcohol is fine (The stuff for cuts), like 20%. I suggest beer because people often have leftover beer they don't know what to do with other than throw it away.
4d1ct3d
Cool, I'll try that, as my bambino is starting to ghost as well. I'm gonna give it an hell of a treatment with alcohol, bleach, lemon juice and vinager :P

I am thinking 151 or everclear would work good too, and if you accidentally left some in the hookah, owell, no big deal .
