trees in al waha

Recommended Posts

I get stems in virtually all the tobacco I buy. I've noticed that my
Fahker gets pretty large stems in it. Its no big deal though. I always
dump all my tobacco out when I first open it, pick out all the stems,
and then just put it back in.

And no, its not uncommon to get stems. But are you sure the stems were
4-5 inches? Thats pretty much the entire length of a 50gram box...

I am forever picking out stems! You think you got it bad? Try picking them out for customers that sit around posting on the hookah forum how many trees there are in your tobacco! Thats stress!Initially alot of companies have real clean tobacco, but it takes lots of time which translates to higher product  costs, so less effort is put into it. Also, as the companies make progressively larger batches of tobacco, its harder to find them in the middle.Once the stuff is flavored, you don;t want to go rooting around in there.

I know what you mean about the stems, but it's not that bad to just pick apart. Takes a couple of extra minutes to really clear it up and break up the massell...but no biggie. Really, it's just apart of the routine of packing a "bowl" of shisha. No kidding. Just relax, be patient, and have a good smoke.

TxBrit 31 mentions at the beginning that the culprit was Al Waha grape. I've seen stems in many brands of grape especially since the grape itself is attatched in nature to a tiny sprig of wood stem. There would be so many more of them than say, melon which  has only one thick stem . (even so Nakhla manages to get wood into them too). sheeshabum
Stems are our friends...the only problem is the large ones that poke through the foil, creating a tear in an otherwise pristine foil.
So are you supposed to take stems out or not?  I noticed that Fumari is very finely minced and doesn't really have any big stems or big anything for that matter.

THe stemmiest shisha i've ever seen is Nakhla Peach.  I gave it to
my friend who is starting up hookah-smoking.  He was
thrilled.  "oh yeah, thats some good sh**" i told him "thanks so
much!" he told me.
You don;t have to, if you don't wanna. The only thing that really annoys me is the foreign plant matter that ends up in the tobacco. They spread the tobacco out on the floor of barns to dry and age...and whatever's on the floor gets in the tobacco...I've found wheat, corn silk, straw, hay, alfalfa, soybean, wood and even a pecan once.
