In this case it's less about sharpness and more about blade thickness and edge geometry methinks. Really though, it's not a hard task... you could hit the coals with a rock, or a metal ruler and have similar results.

it has nothing to do with sharpness but more about the impact. same concept as an axe chopping firewood. sure, it would help if the axe was sharp but a dull axe can split wood pretty darn good too.

You are literally cutting them!

I was previously under the impression that you had to sort of saw them and then break it apart sorta like Exotica naturals.
