Tangiers Weirdness..help Please

Recommended Posts

Okay over the past 3 orders i have gotten about 3 Kilos of Tangiers...no problems what so ever save 2.

Strawberry and Cinnamon

Acclimated both... both smell like burnt tobacco.

Stored them in lock and locks a few days. Reacclimated...nothing.

Read and tried cooking a small bowls worth...nothing.

Any ideas, or should I just toss them.

I'd try baking it for a little bit to try to pull it out of shock... its works in the most extreme cases, then add glycerin

Tried cooking a bowl in the oven with no result.

Canon, I am smoking BGB right now and Tangiers most of the week.

The smell is even in the container. I open either of them and I can't smell the flavor. Never have been able to.

Give Eric a call... I remember him mentioning to put the shisha in the freezer and take it out and re try acclimating it. However I dont remember him mentioning how long to leave it in there for.

Sometimes tangiers is just weird like that. Try smoking a bowl to see if it at least smells normal. My orange soda did the same thing a while ago but it tasted just fine when I smoked it

Cinnamon and Strawberry have very faint aromas.

Thats why you smell mostly tobacco. Your used to big, in-your face Tangiers aromas...those two flavors are old-school. We we're focusing on small aromas early on.

Sometimes it smells stronger than others. When its dry strawberry smells faintly, when damp it smells great. Watermelon is the opposite. smells good when its dry, weakly when its damp.

This is what I was going to say...Eric in other threads said to not cook it, it won't help it in the slightest as its already cooked.

he's said to put it in a freezer over night, or a few days, then let it thaw.

EDIT: The search function works great with + symbols.

tangiers +eric +freezer

and

tangiers +freezer

You'll find some Eric nuggets of wisdom. Edited by redjako

My strawberry experience was exactly how you described. I'm not cross about it though because come to think of it, I don't care for in-your-face strawberry flavor in tobacco. It still smokes well, and the subtle flavor is enjoyable. I mixed it with melon blend and with blueberry to add some complexion to their respective tastes, and it was a nice result.

Though Eric, you may consider providing a beefed-up strawberry for those on the other side of the fence.
