baumann
I picked up smoking cigs last year and got up to around half a pack a day for the whole year. Not much to some of the more serious smokers, but enough to become addicted and fairly familiar with nicotine. Since September, I've been experimenting with everything hookah, from making hoses out of plastic tubing to cutting scalli mods out of pop cans. Recently I ordered my first batch of Tangiers Horchata (I think you guys call it OG for original tangiers line, not sure though). Finally got it to smoke right and taste great, but holly shit, I felt like I was going to have a heart attack! Stick 3 Camel Snus pouches in my cheek and maybe I would get as much of a buzz. Is this pretty normal for tangiers? If so, I guess the brand proved me completely unfamiliar with nicotine. Because of this, most of the people in the house I live in hated the Horchata sessions because they all got so messed up off a few puffs. Anyone else dislike tangiers for this reason on here? Or do I just need to man up? lolEDIT: Acclimated correctly smelled good, tasted good, so nothing wrong there. Horchata is one of the spiciest, and they are all stronger than any other brand I smoke.
ilikemyusername
i think its part of the point, i believe eric uses black tobacco.i was in peru a few years back and they smoke black tobacco cigs, one of those would throw me for a loop. i bought a whole bundle and brought them back with me, i gave them to everyone i know. Sonthert
Actually, the tobacco is normal colored, the molasses makes it black, unlike a maduro cigar which is aged and cured differently. If it was uber potent, try putting more tobacco in the bowl...I know it sounds weird, but more tobacco will lower its punch.

evilded777
No, he means more. With the right pack, and the right heat, it will cook slower and release less nicotine all at one (I think this is the science behind it, but I could be WAY off).Personally... I have bombed two bowls of Horchata for some reason. I have never bombed a bowl of Tangiers like this. And I don't know what it is. I pack it the same, but I can seem to get the heat right. It makes no sense. I smoked Static Starlight on Friday evening, superb (!); then packed a bowl of Horchata that night. Utterly burnt it. Tried again the next day, and actually went against my norm and packed a HUGE bowl of it; figuring I would give what everyone else does a try. No dice. It was either not smoking or it was burning. Packed Pear on Saturday night and smoked that well into Sunday, zero issues.Color me befuddled.

baumann
Okay FIXED! packed that shit tight and used Exoticas instead of Cocos. WOW exoticas are far superior to cocos when smokin' the horch. They don't burn nearly as hot. cool beans
inino
ya it shouldnt hit you that hard, especially if you smoke cigs and dip. It should be pretty mellow compared to that actually. I would have to agree in packing it tighter.
