Best Cherry?

Recommended Posts

Lately I've been craving Cherry, but have never tried one.

Some reviews say that when Cherry is bad--it's a bit like cough syrup. Which doesn't sound like the worst thing in the world as long as the Cherry flavor is nice and intense.

Looking for a strong cherry experience. Big-time flavor and good clouds.

I would say that the first things that came to mind are AF Cherry, Nakhla Mizo Cherry and regular Nakhla Cherry, but there are so many other brands out there--I didn't want to overlook the brand that is known for the best cherry ever.

Reviews of Cherries are a little light so I thought I'd ask the group: What's the best Cherry?

I've heard bad things about AF cherry but that's just what i've heard. I'd personally go with Tangiers Maraschino cherry.

But if you're looking for other cherries: Java Cherry will make you sick with the sweetness of it, and Fantasia Cherry is just about right, except for the price.

I think SB has the best cherry, fantasia would be second, third would be java

I think AF Cherry is ok; I mix it with vanilla, cinnamon and cardamom and my friends love it.

Nahkla Cherry, not so good... though someone said to acclimate it, and I haven't smoked it yet. Its got a weird aftertaste...shudder.

Tangiers Maraschino and Mizo Cherry are still on my: to try list.

I smoked some Romman cherry the other night (with some Layalina chocolate mint) and it was decent, but underpowered. I'll try it by itself and let you know.

Tangiers Marachino Cherry... I smoked my whole 250g pack in less than a week, I couldn't stop. I do like cherries though so, it might just be me. When I get a bag of cherries at the store, they rarely make it home, nor do they last more than the evening if they do. As I said, I smoked it all in less than a week, and the scent... omg I loved acclimating it, I would bathe in Marashino Cherry it smells so good, and it tastes like it smells. Eric, thank you so much for that flavor... I just now am realizing how great it is, and how sad I was that it was out of stock on my last order from MNH sad.gif I think I'll check back this afternoon when I'm off work and order if they have it! I want to smoke some M cherry now! Any other cherry flavors as good? I'll def give them a shot if so.

AF Cherry is only good as a mixer IMO... just rather weak, and a bit too sweet. Al Amir exotic's bing cherry is pretty decent. I've found that most cherry flavors in general just don't seem to be that great, maybe it's just me.

Truly it is. Epic indeed. Choco mint is smelling really good in my kitchen right now, gonna light up a bowl of that in a couple hours. But I really NEED more M Cherry.

Nope, not just you. Tangiers M. Cherry is the best cherry flavor ever made - period.

Is Tangiers M Cherry subtle or strong?

I ask b/c I've ordered Kashmir Apple (just tasted like spice) and Lucid Apple (smells like an apple pastry but no discernible flavor at all) which leads me to conclude that Tangiers isn't strong on flavor. But it could be just the apple isn't a strong flavor.

Tangiers is extremely strong on flavor. Most of their flavors kick you in the mouth with flavor. You might have acclimated them wrong or packed them wrong because there's no way you could have not at least gotten the flavor in your mouth and been able to taste it.

It's been Tangiers and Nakhla pretty much all the way for me since I discovered both flavors. It's going to stay that way until I find an equivalent.

M-cherry is super strong. Almost too strong for me.

Anything Kashmir is going to be spicy, however as a cook I can tell you that apple is the absolutely worst flavor to copy in anything. It's just very subtle, very textural and very difficult to duplicate even when derived from the actual fruit. Apple jelly for instance is the most tasteless compared to say raspberry which is in your face flavor. That might be the reason anise originally got added to Double Apple in the original brands of tobacco. To give it some flavor.

Interesting. I'm on the fence with giving Tangiers one last chance--but that's what I said right before I bought the no-flavor Lucid Apple (which I just now tried again, same results).

It is re-assuring that M Cherry is "almost too strong," just a tricky situation pondering having a 3rd bag of Tangiers that won't get smoked.

However, thanks for all the responses. This forum's enthusiasm is inspiring.

  • 2 weeks later...
Ok gave some Romman Cherry a spin tonight to cure my Cherry craving.

Only my second time with Romman (first was DA which was much more single apple). Seems like an OK brand, but overall not as flavorful, cloudy, or juicy as AF.

The flavor however of the Romman Cherry was satisfying. After a few minutes I realized that it could accurately be named Cherry Chap Stick. It had a waxy chemically character to it, but was definitely Cherry. A good first Cherry for me, and I think next I'll try AF Cherry to compare.

I'm very excited about mixing this with some AF Licorice or some DA to get what I imagine will be a fairly realistic Cherry Licorice experience.
