tripleapple
so i think there might be something wrong with my hookah's hose socket or release valve, not sure. all i know is that I have the hardest time getting any smoke out of one of the hose socket things. the other one works just fine. I also noticed that the rubber lining/interior part of the socket is very loose and has actually come out before when I took the hose out of the socket. I also have a hard time with the valve, it doesnt seem to screw all the way on. any ideas? ways to fix this, etc?

Stuie
that little piece looks like it just wasn't cut of all the way. Pliers and yank it off, or if you got some tin snips give those a try.
K1024
yup thats called flash, and its left over from the mold it was made in.just cut or sand it off and your problems will hopefully fixed.
ryno
I'd cut off that extra piece and use teflon tape around the threads to get a good seal. Also, is the hose port an autoseal? If so the bb may be stuck and/or rusted, in which case you can use a plastic airsoft bb as a replacement or take it out completly.

Sonthert
I don't know that would cause all the symptoms you listed. My experience is when one part on item is jacked up, generally the whole thing is...do you have autoseals in there? (ball bearings), if so, I'd remove them temporarily. Remove the flash, and the ball bearing from the damaged hose port.
