I've had cupcake for about 3 weeks (rooted phone). T-Mobile is pushing cupcake to unrooted phones in the US next week.

You need to root your phone to put your applications on your SD card. Here are guides for everything:http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=448

Cupcake has been released Over the Air with T-Mobile UK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hell yer!

So no cracking or rooting required.... It looks like it's going to be released in the US in a week or two.

Awesome! It's a really good update.

No, because your numbers are backed up on Google's servers (your gmail contacts). Everything else will be wiped though.

I saw a topic about the same problem on the android forum when I was looking to install it manually. I'll keep patient (as I have for what? 4 months now?) and wait to get it over the air.
