skiracerj1
So this was a bit of an odd experience me and some friends had at a local hookah lounge here in colorado. We asked for a double apple caramel mix and, no joke, swear to god it tasted just like a pine tree. Like fresh pine tree after a springs rain, it was crazy. We were joking around that they should call the flavor the Colorado. Just curious if anbody knows why this would happen. The brand they use at the lounge is Layalina if that matters. It was the weirdest thing ever the way thos flavors cam together, not that it wasnt enjoyable, just not what i expected.

Sonthert
Double Apple smokes that way sometimes. Nothing is wrong...pay no attention to the hookah behind the curtain...
caspianhookahcafe
I'm from colorado what hookah bar did you go to?
jmexx
I have a Caramel Apple mix from Al Amir and it doesn't taste ANYTHING like pine, lol. I guess it's the double apple that does it. Even then, though, double apple's more of a licorice taste. Nice find... strange but nice find.Jon
skiracerj1
Caspian, it was at Marrakesh down near I-25 and Colorado Blvd. We frequent there alot, some would say too much. I think the Pine might be coming from something there doing, either bad batch, not washed properly, I don't know. It happened again though, this time with Banana Mango. It Started of tasting like you would expect but then about a half hour in, BAM, pine trees again. We've been going there for a while and have never had this happen, its usually quite excellent all thing considered. It doesn't really bug me, just makes me curious is all. Sonthert
Find out what they are cleaning their rigs with...they may be using a pine scented/flavored soap or something.
caspianhookahcafe
I'm pretty sure they use nakhla there. Marrakesh is cool i know all of the owners but getting a hookah there that smokes well is like a needle in a hay stack... Before it was crowded like two years ago they used to have another brand of tobacco that was amazing.
skiracerj1
Yeah I know they used to use nakhla but now all the tobacco in their display cases is layalina, so i thought that might've had somethin to with it, but i dunno. But yeah I agree, lately its just been too crowded and the quality of the hookah has gone way down.
