Sherwood
QUOTE (Barnaby @ May 22 2009, 11:02 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>So, if you are ok with tinkering, then there are other options out there. but if you want a great of box experience, the iPhone is hard to beat.If you're willing to do some tinkering, the iPhone is pretty hard to beat, too.I've got my camcorder rocking right now, for instance. Cracking and Jailbreaking opens this thing so wide it's unbelievable.
tinyj316
I worked for at&t for 8 years... I've also had every phone company under the sun for at least 6 months.... The iPhone is a stellar piece of equipment given the right apps and/or jailbreaking it to work with third party applications, however, there are rumors that a new model is coming down the pipe in July, so most of those issues should hopefully be rectified by then. The blackberry bold is a decent phone, however, its a bit of a battery hog when using the 3g. If you don't mind using a mostly menu driven interface, then the blackberry is a very nice phone as well. It handles emails flawlessly. As for the new iphone having video... video is already available on the 3g, just with some serious tinkering at the moment. This will all be upgraded once firmware 3.0 is released. The iPhone is designed to be as backward compatible as possible, so its pretty safe to assume that the video functionality will be unlocked on the 3g and 2g versions. Also, they're bumping up the capacity of the device, making the 16gb the low end with 32 on the high end. They're also bumping up the specs on the camera and the capacitive touch screen.the iPhone is definetly the way to go.
Sonthert
I just bought this one:T-700This is Ericsson's portfolio: Ericsson phonesEricssons have Smart Search, its a function for phone numbers like T9 is for Text message prediction. You start entering the first few digits of the phone number and it shows you all of the phone book contacts in your phone or SIM that match those first few numbers. The best part is that it also pops out with numbers that you have called or have called you that you HAvEN'T SAVED. Its sweet. I haven;t looked at other phones recently, but everybody is amazed when they see it. It is the best function on a phone ever.
