chromecarz00
Hey everyone, I swear by the mod on the phunnel bowl, and some people did not agree/believe me so in an effort to sway them I made an illustration (MS Paint FTW, my drawing skills ftl) to try and explain why a mod helps so much.Questions, comments, agree, disagree? You're all welcome.Eric, your opinion is especially of interest. Also, a slight modification, even if gravity does not force all of the juice to the bottom of the bowl, there is still some shisha at the bottom beneath of the raised hole that does not get any hot air, which still makes the mod worth getting. NimbleCow
Looking forward to following this discussion.I find that I like the mod with drier to moist shisha, and no mod with wet to drippy shisha. If I use the mod with drippy shisha, the juices get pulled under the mod and down the stem of the phunnel (MNH Mini Glass), giving me a subpar session and a very messy cleanup. TheShishaDoctor
I find I can get much better airflow without using the mod. I tend to pack very tight.

I don't dislike the mod but it's still can be hit or miss when I use it.

I tend to pack very tight. That would make sense because the air is going essentially directly into the hole. If you would do me a favor, next time you use a mod, pack the bowl loosely, sprinkle it in, and see what difference it makes.I forgot to mention that it works best with a loosely sprinkled bowl, which also saves you tobacco as opposed to cramming it in there. It has been discussed but I've never seen anyone explain it quite like I have nor with a diagram so I apologize if you have seen it before. I probably just need to experiment with it more since I don't use it very often anymore.
clumsygrace
It makes sense, I just wish the pull was easier with a mod.
Voski
What if all the mod does is pull the air down the sides of the mod so it doesn't really go through all of the tobacco and then up. It just goes down the edge and up the inside and then down the stem.
mjdx88
I have found when using a mod with loose shisha that is very wet that I have gotten more flavor, so AF SB and Fant, this works great for. But for nak and tangiers as far as i know wont smoke right packed loosely.
shaffaaf27
i like it without, when you near the end of the bowl it starts heating up the shisha on the juice and gives it new flavour, and i love that
delSol_si
My foil gets sucked onto the phunnel's hole causing air restriction if I don't use the mod. Never really got good sessions without the mod. Logically thinking, I would think w/o the mod, the air would simply go straight from the coals/foil holes and straight down the big hold in the middle of the phunnel, bypassing the shisha since there is nothing filtering the air through the baccy. My results are always far better with the mod. And, I just found out I can get a bag of 100 tea light candles for $2 at a local dollar store, so I don't even bother reusing them anymore. I find that cramming the baccy in there real tight gives me better clouds and longer sessions, but has worse air flow. I have experimented with different ways to cut the tea light candle foil to see if one way is better than the other. So far, my findings have been to cut several triangles about half way up, then cut a slit from the top of the triangle all the way to the top works best, then I put it in my palm and press with my thumb to get it into a dome shape.
