Sylren
Wow man that sucks. My order from hookah-shisha got stuck in customs and then when it was finally delivered it had a $300 duty charge and I had to send it back. This was before I knew never to order from hookah-shisha if you live in Canada because they don't ship discreetly. I hope it works out better for you! TheShishaDoctor
Dude you'll be fine. All orders typically sit at customs for a day or two before going out. Your Nazar order should be fine, as I've heard they ship discretely. The other order may get opened at customs, but you don't have much to worry about, only 100g tobacco which they probably won't tax.

Scoop
if customs sees "hookah" for both of the packages...thats not discreetly shipped at all.

I hope it works out better for you!Yeah that's why I did not order tobacco from them except the 100g that comes with the hookah. I actually added a note to them to replace it with herbal shisha instead of Romman so it would not be stopped by customs. I was hoping I get it before the long weekend. My fingers are crossed for tomorrow.
chinamon
i just picked up my order containing 2.5kg of shisha from john and no duties.you should be okay with nazar but its not guaranteed that customs wont check your order.hookah-shisha, on the other hand, has the highest chance of being taxed. H-S always charged me duties.its not H-S that charges the duties. it is Canada Customs that does it.the problem with H-S shipping internationally is the return address says "hookah shisha" which means they ship under their business name. that doesnt make the package very discreet.all the discreet shippers ship privately with their own personal name. gunsboy
I just got my Nazar Hookah Shipment that entered Canada 3 days after Hookah-Shisha's order. I hate Canada Customs. I just ran out of coals and we have a long weekend. Now I have to wait until Tuesday or even more to be able to test my new KM hookah and be able to smoke with decent coals. Thanks for your input all...

The last few times I've been busted I've had to do all the customs work myself. I had to go down to the customs office, fill out paper work, pay my fees then goto fedex and pick it all up. Its odd but its bound to happen every once in a while.

newjacksm
I know this will be a real dumb question but why isn't there a big vendor in Canada? Are taxes on Shisha and Tobacco really that bad? Edited May 20, 2009 by newjacksm

Rani
What you need is for a cousin of Eric's to be living in Canada and manufacturing with local materials to his specifications........ Lunatic768
the return address for my Hookah-shisha order a several weeks ago was "shisha times"i was shipping to a dorm where no hookahs are allowed, and i asked for discreet shippingi was in the US thomaybe they changed their return address?but you have my prayersthat really sucks

I hate them. Can't really blame H-S on that one, its USPS/CanadaPost that are screwing you over. Priority Mail International is 6-10 business days, and once its shipped its out of their hands. I've had some orders come in 3 business days, others in 15. There's no logic to it, I'm guessing its just dependent on how backed up and/or lazy the customs guys are. Also, my packages typically spend 4-6 days in customs and come out without problems, so I wouldn't necessarily worry about that just yet. Probably differs between brands but...Damn, its a huge flaw in the system, i wonder if anyone have ever tried contacting some of the decision-makers about this, seriously, its not like its an opinion about something, its a friggin calculating/weighing error...Even if they fix this issue shisha would still be expensive compared to the states but maybe it would be possible to actually have a normal market for shisha with online vendors etc instead of the black market/underground smuggling/fake AF/old dry lower quality nakhla crap swamp that is the european shisha market today. I do not think I will order anything from there again. I asked them in the order notes to replace the following two "FREE" 50g shisha boxes with herbal shisha because I did not want customs to fuck with this order and I really do not smoke Romman, which is the advice I got from their customer service guy on the online chat thing.Romman 50g #1:: almond - NEW!Romman 50g #2:: almond - NEW! I PAID $28.75 to customs on those FREE Romman boxes and it caused the shipment to stay 10 days in customs. It is not 100% H-S fault, but they did a shitty job following the directions. Now they owe me $28 I spend over $250 a month on Hookah and Shisha things. I usually try to stick to one place for orders. On a good note, the Tri-Metal KM looks awesome the bag that comes with it is AWESOME.
