RingsMaster
so i just bought a new havanna funnel from hookah shisha, bought it with my namour hose, well it came today and i decided to try it out. im having the hardest time getting the foil level, i dont have this problem on my other funnel. its the same diameter but the havanna is a little deeper. the other problem is that it takes me 3 coals to get it lit vs the 2 for my other one. im expecting that its the foil but if anyone could give me some advice on maybe how to get that foil tighter or maybe im making a mistake or something idkany help will be appreciated, thanks guys
mjdx88
Im not quite sue how your having trouble pulling the foil tight, just work around the edges and pull down and around the bowl. As for the heat issue, its made from a different type of clay from what I heard which requires more heat.Hope this helps,Mike
TheShishaDoctor
Another member recently posted a video of how he packs a Tangiers bowl, including the foiling. (Although I don't really agree with the "packing it down" with the foil on. I normally stop after the foil goes on, and I leave it tight.)Here's the thread:http://www.hookahforum.com/?showtopic=30629
RingsMaster
the weird thing is that my other funnel smokes like a champion, mabye it is just the bowl, no matter what i do to the foil it always sinks, always
ryno
Is it getting sucked down over the hole in the middle? I usually find a stem to lay across it, or I use a paper clip to prop it up. With the paper clip I keep it on the outside of the bowl and bend it around like so in the pic below

mjdx88
Are you under packing the bowl? as long as you get a clean airway and have good heat management its ok if the foil ends up touching, my large phunnel, when not using tang. the foil sinks in. indian_villager
Thats where you went wrong. You bought the knock off phunnel. Those things are rediculously big and the clay sucks in comparison so you are going to be flying through coals. The foil is not the issue with you being unable to heat it. It is simply due to the material not being able to hold the heat.
