Why would you want to talk about your period and menstruating such one a public forum? This forum is a hookah forum, not a omg guess what came out of me today forum. Mushy has said before: "if you aren't comfortable with saying it to a stranger, you probably shouldn't say it on here" with a few exceptions for the people who actually do know each other. And I think you are lumping all guys into one stereotype, which isn't right. I have a couple friends who are girl that talk to me about there girly stuff, it really doesn't bother me. Ya, its not the number 1 topic I would like to hear about, but I understand it is important to them so I listen and give as best advice and input I can.

Being a white male, I am getting used to be discriminated against, so this really didn't come as a shocker, no pun intended . Furthermore, as much as I think this is retarded, I really DONT care either. This is an online public forum, not the end of the world. If the women are able to talk the their way into their own forum, then whatever, no biggie, there are plenty of other people here to talk to and have an enjoyable convo with. Not to mention I don't see the women's forum being that exciting anyway, there really aren't that many of them. Vampy, clumsygrace, serrated saphire, and supersubby are the only 4 that come to mind.

There are some deep conversations that go on there, (and some not so deep). I just broke up with my girlfriend of 3 years, and I wrote about it there. For me personally it was really nice for me to be able to talk to people that I feel I can relate to but, don't really know. That may sound dumb to you, you can make fun of me for it if it makes you feel better, but I honestly don't care.

I have a few thoughts here. Its unusual, I know, I'm known as Silent Bob, really. First off, I'm a 37 year old man and I can relate to being a 20 year old man a lot better than some of these women can.

I understand both sides, the women want a a place to banter without men around. This is not without precedence. Years ago, womens bathrooms had huge lounges between the exit and the toilet area. Mens restrooms had no such analog. In many primitive cultures, there was a special hut for women on their periods. I'd always just assumed it was because of mood swings...now I understand why...it was for the women, not the men. See? 37 year old man...still learning.

The form of discrimination I am referring to:
1. Women want to be treated equally only on things that are nice and pleasant, not on dirty jobs. Example: I used to work at a high classy restaurant. My jobs were serving, servers assistant, and dishwashing. One day, I was scheduled for server's assistant, so I went in and the dishwasher for that day didn't show up. They decided they needed a dishwasher more than a server's assistant, so they put me on dishwashing instead. Not 15 minutes later, they brought in a girl to do the servers assistant job. Why couldn't I do my job and the girl they brought in do the dishwashing? I am assuming because dishwashing is a dirty job and server's assistant is a clean job. From everything I have seen, women want equal rights when it comes to nice, pretty, fun stuff, but then when it comes to dirty hard stuff, most run away and don't want any part of it. And I say MOST because I know there are a select few women that don't fit into this category.

2. My dad just got laid off a few weeks back. He worked for a HUGE corporation, so guess who were the ONLY people to get laid off? White males. NO foreign people, NO women. ONLY white males.

3. I have heard of the "black scholarship fund" have you ever heard of the "white scholarship fund" no, because the one guy that tried it got f-ed up.

4. Why can black people shout "discrimination" when something doesn't go there way and everyone caters to them, but when a white person calls it, no one listens?

5. I have noticed there are ALWAYS bars and parties on campus that women get into free, just for being a woman. I have NEVER heard of a bar or party that a guy could get into free because they are a guy.

I understand the need for a Women's forum. I think its a good idea. I dont get grossed out by details about periods and such as I intend to become a doctor and I have strong stomach. In any case I see the point. Not everyone is comfortable giving intimate details to the entire forum but have formed bonds with some and want to relate to women only. Damn Eric, couldn't have put that better myself. I am 23 myself, so I guess I don't fit into your statement . I consider myself mature, I just like to joke around and have fun a lot. And really though, most of what I am saying are just facts that most people don't want to look at because they know they are right.
