Elegance Group Hookah

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm with a nonprofit in NC and we had a hookah in a case donated today. I'm having a hard time trying to price it and I was hoping you all might be of some help. Here is what I can find out about it:

It's in a brown/marble looking case with an "Elegance Group" metal plate on the front. It says it is made of hand made Bohemia Crystal from Czech Republic. It also has a label from Egermann on it. It's mostly clear, but has a gold stripe on the top and a gold stripe in the middle. The stripes are adorned with raised gold leafing.

The box is lined in velvet and has (2) hoses, the connection pieces, and a box of Nakhla Orange Molasses tobacco.

I tried googling the labels, and got some hits, but nothing as far as prices are concerned.

Can anyone help out?

Thank you

Kristy

Pics would help.

But it it's really czech Crystal 250-300$ range

its worthless.. send it to me instead, I'll pay for shipping.. LOL

Man.. I think I must be jaded in my old age.. First thing I thought of when I read this was more on the lines of:

"I just lifted a hookah from somewhere, and want to sell it on Ebay. Help me know what its worth, so I can get the most from it.. "

I kid of course.. but seriously.. Who the fuck donates a hookah that has a hand made Czech vase. I would consider it unlikely that whoever donated it, did not know the value of it. But hey, stranger things have happened.. I have a friend who is into photo journalism. He was on ebay looking for older camers, and ran across some kind of really expensive camera (I can't remember the name). Anyway the camera normally sells for a few thousand dollars, pushing 10 g's. Because they mispelled the name on the listing, and didn't know what they had, he managed to get it for $30 w/shipping.. lucky bastard.. Edited by Barnaby

Also worth mentioning -- you might get a better price with less hassle by selling it here, rather than eBay.

Thanks for the responses... we actually don't see on Ebay. We have a Resale Store that we use to raise money to build homes for people in need in our county. The guy who donated this is one of the guys who does odd jobs for people and they usually tell him to take "whatevers in the boxes" - he ends up bringing it over here to donate.

That is a bohemian vase, I would guess retail on the base alone would be around $80, the stem looks equisite as well,
Style is similar to http://www.myasaray.com/store/item.asp?ITE...EPARTMENT_ID=47
but its not that so dont expect that much.
Ballpark, I'd say $150 would be fair, but thats without knowing what the pipe is.
Better pics are a neceasity.
+1 for selling it here. Much easier and probably will get a tiny bit more or at least a bit of guarentee on the buyer.

+1 except the seller is new and doesn't have a reputation around here which would keep some people from buying it. Ya, they claim to be working for a NFP organization, so we would assume they are legit, anyone can say that just to scam a few bucks. Not trying to be negative, just realistic.

True enough - I'm actually not trying to sell it on here necessarily, just thought I would ask for a bit of help.

We have a hookah lounge here in our county, and I'm thinking the best thing to do is cart it over there and ask them. I honestly have no idea how to tell if it's real crystal stem or not.

One of my volunteers mentioned that it might be missing an ash catcher.

you're in NC, are you Chapel Hill? That lounge "Hookah Bliss" is run by our admin.

Hi,

I'm actually in Jacksonville, N.C. - around 2.5 hours southeast of Chapel Hill. The hookah lounge here is called "Pipe Dreams". I wish I was in Chapel Hill though - that would be really helpful to have a contact at the lounge already.

I would be careful. Some lounges may try to snake you on it. It was a really good idea to come here first. I think the guys on here would really be able to help a lot more if there were some better pics. And maybe try to get a pic of it assembled, that may help too. If you could take it to Mush's lounge I think that would be a great idea, but I am not sure it is worth the drive. Off the top of my head Canon, Sonthert, and chinamon may be good people to ask. I think it was Sonthert that IDed my vase to be a 32 gauge instead of 30, told me where to find one as well. Chinamon seems to be full of vast amounts of knowledge as well as Canon. I am sure there are many others, but those three come to the top of my head.

I am not trying to tell you to avoid selling it on here, as it would probably be a good idea, I am just sending a word of caution since you are new. Best case scenario would be for you to stick around and make a reputation for yourself then sell it on here.

I wouldnt suggest going to any lounge, there are some sketchy people who may tell you its worth not much.

Haha, you beat me to it chromecarz00.

I'll post some better photos tomorrow when I get to work - I had to use my cell phone to snap that one b/c I left my digital camera at home.

Thanks everyone for all of your help! (Check out our website for our nonprofit - www.jacksonvilleonslowhabitat.org)

I would be careful flashing around links like that. It could be mistaken for spam, but from your previous posts you seem legit. Anyway you could post your hookah pics on that website? I am guessing if you could do that, you might have the credibility needed to sell it on here. Just a thought.

Well If I was closer to your non profit org. and wasn't headed up to MD for the weekend I'd drive by get some pictures and get a first hand report (and maybe buy it wink.gif ) lol

Seriously though, I might buy it, in person if need be.

I know everyone's been saying it, but whenever you get a chance for some more pics that would be great

Are you talking about the Abu Abdo coals? If so yes they are kick ass. It is a very common coal in the Mid East for sure.
