Nakhla Mint Mixing Suggestions?

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

So the local arab market sells Nakhla shisha so I picked up mint, having never tried it. Usually the arab brands are too harsh for me, but I couldn't wait until my order arrived (today).

Anyways, the first 10 min was awesome, cool and not mentholy at all. Then, out of nowhere, it started making me cough. Like, cough all over the place - I would start a draw and then my throat would just seize up. Strong stuff.

Ok, so the logical theory now is to just mix a little in with other flavors/brands of shisha...

Anyone have any suggestions?

TIA

my first suggestion would be to throw it out.Nakhla mint is NOT a good smoke. After that i'd say try it with Lemon, Orange, or hell, even DA. What have you got to lose? smile.gif

No problem. Mints and citrus flavours always go well together.

well on it's own it is damn strong, especially the mizo. I would do what mush suggested, mint works well with citrus flavors.

i also mix mint with grape sometimes, cinnamon to make cinnamint, and if you have any chocolate from any brand you could do a chocomint.

True on the grape. We serve a fair amount of that but i dont think it would mix as well with al basha (Nakhla) grape. It's too much like a grape tootsie pop for my liking.

We mix AF Spearmint gum with cinnamon at the bar, call it Cinnaspear.

For chocomint we carry the Nakhla one.

Regarding the harshness, try adding a bit of glycerine to the tobacco. It really makes it burn a lot smoother, I'm sure you'd enjoy the smoke much better that way.

As for mixing, I can imagine it going well with Nak Mandarin, maybe Mizo/reg peach. Haven't tried those mixes though, I don't have any Nak Mint right now.

perhaps my box was old...but i thought it was rather revolting. Rather have AF mint or SB wild mint any day. Probably would foego smokign if all i had was the Nak. Mint. But hey, each to his/her own....

i love mint! yes, straight mint!!

Ubermint - Best Evar!!
Tangiers Mint: sooooo good
Mizo Mint - soooo good
Nak Mint - sooo good
AF Mint - soo good
SB Wild Mint - so-rta good

if i can't decide what to smoke, the first thing i'll grab is mint - then if i'm not lazy, i'll mix it...if i am, i smoke it straight...

as for mixing suggestions, i like mixing with most fruit flavored shisha

Classic raspberry - my favorite mix atm
Grape
Esk Apple
Schnozzberry
Peach
Cherry
Cinnamon
Chocolate
Vanilla
Honey
Melon
Strawberry
Watermelon

tried mint in cafe latte expecting something like an irish coffee...uhhhh, not quite.

Nak mint is awesome just depends on if it's your particular taste and if you've got the heat management right. On summer nights or when I had a stopped up nose i would smoke a straight bowl of Nak mint with crushed altoids in the base and even a drop or two of mint extract if I felt like it. With a green hose no less wink.gif lol.

It's awesome and works wonders for sinuses being stuffy (not sick, just stuffy) Speaking of which I think it's time for a bowl of mint....mmmm it's been a while.
