I'm Having A Problemut

I have purchaced 3 phunnels lately large, med, mini. When I use the egyptian bowl i get a buzz using NAKHLA, but when I use the phunnels I get none. I am getting good smoke and decent flavor, but no buzz. I packed it in tight and loose same effect. I have been using 3k ql, but just purchased some of the new coals from thehookah.com. Same problem with both coals. Water level is always the same because I have a line marking the area that I need to fill it so I'm consistant everytime. I am looking for the buzz what am I doing wrong I'm using a 28" nour with a cobra hose. Thanks for the help in advance. Edited May 27, 2009 by wodieson2

more heat. Maybe put on a windcover or another half a coal, see if that works

Hmmm... have you switched back to an egyptian after using a phunnel? maybe you got used to the buzz a little?

if that's not the case only thing i could think of would be that it doesnt pull through all the shisha in a phunnel.

Pack the Nak exactly like tangiers in the phunnel. Pack it high then push it down with the foil, that usually gives me a pretty good buzz.

Doesn't pull through?? When i poke holes with the toothpick I go all the way through then blow the bottom to make sure air is flowing through.

I pack it really tight until it won't hold anymore.

With thehookah.com coals how many should I use 3or4 to get good heat.. I don't have a windcover yet that will be my next investment

Eric said that the more tobacco in the bowl, the more the buzz gets calmed down...at least, with Tangiers anyways....but, i guess it would apply to other brands.
