mjdx88
it should last a day or so. take off everything that was burnt and then wrap up the bowl in plastic wrap and tin foil, or if you barely smoked take the small bits of burnt shisha off and then mix the rest back in the tub Edited May 28, 2009 by mjdx88
fcbayern
I was thinking the same thing,, I got a bowl of Lucid Horchata that i had to abruptly stop smoking on tues. I was wondering if I could just toss some new coals on it and go to town..
Stuie
take out the spent tobacco and replace it but i have had hit and miss with this, but I know Canon and Kathryn do it all the time.
antouwan
you should be alright. i've only done this with phunnels but i'm sure it will work with a standard head as well. as for keeping it 'fresh' i mean it's tobacco that's completely soaked in glycerine - a preservative. i'm not trying to sound smart or anything, but i mean me and many others leave tangiers and nakhla open for days or weeks to acclimate. point is, we aren't exactly smoking fresh wild strawberries are we? also: be careful! i wouldn't stand up a slightly smoked head on anything relatively important (le duh) that glycerine and shit has a tendency to drip dry itslef and make a mess. fcbayern
*UPDATE*UPDATE*So after reading and posting above, I decided to just slap some coals on the bowl I did not get to finish from MON!! It has just been sitting in the Phunnel on my rig since then.. I just slapped some coals on it and went to town..I smokes beter than when I smoked it on MON.. Maybe acclimation (tang) maybe its just in my head but non the less it smokes great!!
ilikemyusername
it'll last as long as you want it to.
Sonthert
Al Fakher will dry out, whereas Tangiers will not (its comes predried...which is why it needs acclimating). Remove the dried material, and the foil, put new foil on it, but don't poke holes, turn it upside down. Stuff a towel in the port. When you want to smoke it, turn in right side up, remove the foil, add the appropriate amount of new tobacco to the bowl, add the second piece of foil (the one without holes in it) to the top, poke holes and smoke. That's AL Fakher. For Tangiers, the same process. If you have a phunnel, you can just store the bowl upright and skip the foil without holes step. smoke eater
I love the Tangiers tobaccos, and I love the Tangiers phunnel bowl. The phunnel extends the life of any tobacco to the point of making hookah smoking downright economical (other than the cost of coals, but I use bulk -hee hee). I love just tossing coals onto an old bowl several days and several smokes old, and still getting a great smoke. Other times I'll take out the burnt stuff and toss the good leftovers into a dedicated used tobak tub, mix in a little new, then re-pack the bowl. On the other hand I wonder if the dried up crust on top of a used bowl helps to level out the heat.
redjako
QUOTE (Lunatic768 @ May 28 2009, 08:53 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>soi was smoking this morning when i realised that i didnt have enough timebut i still had plenty of life left in the bowl (AF Berry, still have flavor issues http://www.hookahforum.com/?showtopic=30332)this is in the mini mya bambino bowlcan i save it for tomorrow?or longer?tips for keeping it fresh?i've heard of this being done with phunnelssorry if this is a repeat, i have no luck with the search functionthanksSo I was always the guy who just emptied out the top crusty half, and saved the other.I AM however on my THIRD day of a nicely fork-packed (to the rim) lucid mint/brambleberry mix (70/30, otherwise it didn't taste good) of not changing out the shisha, or water. Its the same medium phunnel.Day 1) 3 coco's to start, 2 coco's after, 2 coco's after (total ~3 hours)Day 2) 2 coco's to start, 2 coco's to start (total ~2 hours)Day 3) 2 coco's to start (in five min).If you notice, you're shisha is still nice and moist at the bottom anyway..I just find cleaning to be a bigger hassle when you don't clean it nightly. This is...ghettto style re-using Edit: I'd go with Sonthert's method however lol Edited May 29, 2009 by redjako
