Well H-S has a new hose:

The "Magical Mystery" hookah hoses are hand crafted in Egypt and measure around 80 inches in length. This unique hookah hose features a colorful hand-stitched carpeted handle, painted wooden mouthpiece, and metal tip adorned with 2 colored beads (the entire handle measures a total of 20 inches in length, making it the longest hookah hose handle we carry!) The hose itself (apart from the handle and mouthpiece) is adorned with various colored patterns and shapes, and has a carpeted end piece that will fit in most any hookah out there. Note: Each hose is individually hand-stitched with a different fabric style, handle color, and hose pattern. While this feature makes the hookah hose quite unique in its own way, this means that no 2 hoses are identical. While we stand by the quality and craftsmanship of these hoses 100%, we unfortunately cannot guarantee color choices. As the name implies, the hose you receive will essentially be a “mystery” of a random color combination of the 3 mentioned components.

Look interesting enough to try for me.

why the hell do you need a 12 to 18 inch handle?

Leather hoses are very susceptible to humidity, it would seem. In Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria, where this noise got started, humidity wasn't a big issue. Clearly it's a big issue in FL, though, username.

In CO, it's not. My favorite hoses are leather, and they've lasted me years with minimal maintenance. No rust, no ghosting, and a 32" handle that is fucking regal.

I dig the crazy hoses. Not enough to buy one, but hey.

crap. looks uber restrictive and super ugly.

bet its crap quality as well

i can confirm this. i have a similar hose (only the design on the hose is different) that i got with a hookah and it is very restrictive.
the coil on the inside also rusts away in no time.

save your money people, this thing is crap.

I like how they look.

As an added bonus. People that smoke Tangiers exclusively don't have problems with hose rust. High water content tobaccos reflux water in the hose...I'm just throwing away 8 year old hoses...no rust.

I bet if I had a couple of those hoses I could make them smoke right. Drill out the stem end, Rework the head...easy.

the smoke or vapor of both high and low water content tobacco goes through the water in the base so i don`t see how one would leave water in the hose and the other wouldn`t.

maybe, but the average person who buys a $20 hose doesn`t want to do any modifications to it to get a decent smoke.
