Canon
QUOTE (Sonthert @ May 29 2009, 11:44 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I like how they look.As an added bonus. People that smoke Tangiers exclusively don't have problems with hose rust. High water content tobaccos reflux water in the hose...I'm just throwing away 8 year old hoses...no rust. I bet if I had a couple of those hoses I could make them smoke right. Drill out the stem end, Rework the head...easy.im going to have to call you out on that. I have smoked tangiers exclusivley for the past 1 1/2 years now. ive had many hoses rust on me. infact with my clear hose that i bought from wal mart, whenever i smoke there is moisture in the hose from the smoke going through the water. i bet it happens to everyone else. Sonthert
OK, well in that fashion, I'm full of shit. How is it that I have hoses that don't rust. Southern California Climate combined with Tangiers? I see hoses smoked with other brands refluxing water in the mouth tips, but not with Tangiers, here. Do you smoke things other than Tangiers, Canon? All I know is my hoses don't rust for some unholy reason...perhaps the pact I made with Belial would explain it?Why don't my hoses rust, then? Why is it that I have hoses from 4-8 years old without rust? I'm asking...why am I so different than everyone else on the rust matter?
Canon
i dont think its the brands that are causing water to come off of the tip, i believe its the water level in the vase and the amount of suction that is being pulled on the hose when people smoke. ilikemyusername
I'm from the opposite side of the country, so i know what the west coast of FLORIDA is like, but any references to san diego climate goes right beyond me. I know that theres a freaking DESERT in between us, and i can only imagine that san diego is humid. One can only imagine, or google.

Whenever I put too much water in my vase on my syrian, the water always comes up into my hose. I can see it bubbling up. However, if you put the right amount of water in, you'll be fine. Sonthert
So, the rust people get in their hoses is from operator error? San Diego is fairly dry, for the record.
Sonthert
I've seen people with the appropriate amount of water in their jar having water reflux in their plastic tip...Why is that then?
delSol_si
I don't even know how to tell if my hose has rust of not...how does one tell without tearing it open?
Sonthert
If the rust grows enough, it'll form black powder coming through the hose.

San Diego is fairly dry, for the record.Thank you, so i deal with humidity shock in my tang... any ideas on how to correct that?(short of acclimation) I acclimate in my house, but I have a 150 gallon reef tank so my house is fairly humid as well. The AC pulls as much moisture as it can, but I'm evaporating 11 gallons per week.
Canon
QUOTE (Sonthert @ May 31 2009, 10:22 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I've seen people with the appropriate amount of water in their jar having water reflux in their plastic tip...Why is that then?you need to tell people to stop slobbering on their tip.the problem could also be humidity, its humid in georgia and japan. but i do notice when i smoke out of my clear plastic hose i do see water in the hose, maybe in the dryer parts of the country the water evaporates quickly out of the hose not causing it to rust.also you said your hoses were 8 years old with no rust. maybe they dont make hoses like they used to. Sonthert
Same hose design more or less. They still have steel coils inside the hose that get exposed to the moisture. Its interesting you say that, because once a hose starts to rust, its too late, and hoses from hookah company that have been there for awhile have rust in them, they are much closer to the beach (3 miles). Perhaps it all has to do with humidity. Yet, I hear about people in Arizona and other dry places that have hose rust too...I'm interested to know. I always put it down to the low moisture content in Tangiers in conjunction with the glycerine drying the hose. There has to be a reason, if you guys don't think its because Tangiers has less water...

ammoura1
hookah cafe in my city use these hoses. They rust pretty fast, the hose tip is fairly small. I also personally don't enjoy the taste of metal in my mouth; with all the crap that stays in the hose, mixing saliva and the dirt gives a pretty disgusting result. Stuie
I totally scored on this one! It looks freaking sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Eventhough the tip is small it pulls like a standard Mya hoses. Can you get some smoking pics up? I have never used a Mya hose before, how would you compare it to a KM Supreme? Or I guess does it constrict at all?? Or whatever else you can compare it to. How wide is the tip? How long did the handle turn out to be? You going to do a full review???
