wow that was great

Recommended Posts

as most of you have seen my thread about my bad hookah experiance, well my friend came over today, and i put way less shisha in the bowl, the perfect amount, and we used the same coals but just 1 and half.  smaller holes in the foil, and man, we had a great great hour long hookah session, when one of us would feel buzzed we would just pass the hose.  we used my double apple this time.  nothing like apples but still good.  we found if we took a hit of the hookah, blew out the smoke and took a sip of coke it was AWESOME!!  after i cleaned everything and put it neatly in its case, 4 other friends came over, and begged to smoke again, so we did with the peach stuff.  6 people and 4 coals later it was great.  really good start to spring break.only thing i had problems with though was that the bowl would NOT stay on.  no matter was, it was uber loose just staying there.  we cleaned the gromet good and everything and it was just loose.  other then that the stargate was great.  i even got some action shots.my friend alex enjoyingand a very crappy video http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v253/Ban...boy/?action=vie w&current=IM000279.flv

I didn't have that bowl problem when I first got my stargate, but eventually did when the grommet started to turn to a brown color due to the staining of the toabcco. Now if I have that problem, i just take a papertowel, soak it in water, wring all the water out so its just damp, tear off a long narrow strip, and wrap that around the grommet. This helps make a nice, clean, tight connection and you shouldn't have a problem with it becoming loose. Give that a  try if you want a quick cheap alternative.

If your problem is the bowl slipping "up" after you seat the bowl on the grommet, try this:
Get some really coarse sandpaper and sand the inside of the bowl (the part that the grommet slips into) until you get it roughed up pretty good. Also, wash it after each use, so the molasses doesn't make it slip. Roughing it with sandpaper will cause it to "bite into" the grommet and hold. Kinda like snow tires for you bowl.

ahh...
first do you put the grommet on the stem and then add the bowl? if you do try stuffing the grommet into the bottom of the bowl and THEN pushing it on the stem.
As for the plastic..i'll bet its a blob of hot glue...fry a coat hander or a piece of something ling and thing and GENTLY try to push past it.

I recently got the exact same setup, and my bowl is having problems
staying on the rubber grommet aswell. I will try sanding the bowl soon
and see if that works, besides that this thing is AMAZING, I'll get
some pictures up soon.
