joytron
IT seems like i get a technique down and then every month or so i smoke a new brand or feeling like trying something different and then have a totally different technique. Got one down that is working really well, which worries me that it might be time for a change. Anyways do you have pattern that you dont stray from or are you pretty flexible? mattarios2
i am always messing around with my techniques and what not, my friends always yell at me and say why change something that is perfect. I say, you know, if you owned a hookah and all the accessories you would understand. No matter how perfect it is, i always think it can be better. Scalliwag
constantly eff around with everything imagine if I said I didn't? You guys would be laffin yer asses off for days!I'm not sure how well this would work on a non-wood bowl but it it so cool on the olivewoods. I wipe a layer of honey on the wall before I load it. It's really nice. When I get up to making vids again I'm gonna post that method.I'm not sure if it will make non-wood bowls a bitch to clean but on the woods it the residue is nice. So yes my changes are pretty left field sometimes. I thought about mixing some juices or pulps into the honey as well.
twoapplesplease
the only thing I change these days is the size of the bowl and what to put in it.Got the tech down pretty good.14 years smoking hookah.I can pretty much take any hookah and any shisha and fire it perfect the first time.As long as the quality of the ingredients is good. Bulldog_916
I like to change when I find or hear of a new method that works for me. Like I didnt use an oyster fork to load my Tangiers tobacco until I saw mdl do it at Oddessy. It actually helps in keeping my hands clean and to mix the tobacco really well. Otherwise I use my hands but for Tangiers, now I load with the fork.
BigSexyPanda
I think what's fun is purposely just changing stuff around and learning to make it work. Making sure it doesn't get harsh or making sure you get great clouds from it.
Sonthert
I do experiment from time to time, but for the most part I'm doing it the same for 10 years now.
Rani
I try and stick with the tried and true, but it's damn near impossible with some brands changing cuts and flavorings, etc. every damn time I buy a new tub. Sometimes you end up starting back at zero......(Are we listening out there AF?????)'Rani

Arcane
if i'm smoking by myself, i'll tweak little things here and there....if i'm smoking with my friends, i stick to what i know works....

delSol_si
QUOTE (arcane @ Jun 6 2009, 09:56 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>if i'm smoking by myself, i'll tweak little things here and there....if i'm smoking with my friends, i stick to what i know works....Agreed.And scalli, you would probably be amazed at the shit a green scotch pad will take off a tang phunnel without damaging the phunnel. Then again, you probably know . I have personally found that I like to spend as little time as possible loading the bowl. When I spend an enormous amount of time into getting everything perfect, then it doesn't smoke like I wanted it to, I get really disappointed. If I just throw the shit together as fast as possible, then if the bowl is good, cool, if not, no time wasted Plus, it is pretty hard IMO to eff up loading a small tang phunnel w/ tea light mod using Layalina...heck, Layalina is hard to eff up period. Not to mention I was spending a good 20-30 min to get my session ready (if not longer) then I watch a youtube vid of John loading it and smoking in under 5 min, I got jealous, haha! antouwan
i have different techniques for different types of tobacco (nakkhla AF tang) obviously. but i'm constantly trying to change shit up (hole patterns, density of pack et al) to see how i can make improvements on any of it. don't get me wrong though, if i pick something up, i'll do it for a good while before i start playing around with it, i like to know that i fully understand something before i go around messing with it. TizaNabi
I wish that things would stay the same that is "mix A with B and get C but you need logic to get things right and so I'm contantly changing regular patterns to get the same results. For instance, the ammount of coal I use. I find that ambient temperature plays a big part of smoking. I live in a one piece prefab that gets colder than it is outside in winter and warmer than it is outside in summer. In winter I have to add the ammount of coal or it won't smoke being the ambient temperature in the house is colder and in summer. lately I've found for a few days the same ammount of coal was burning the shisha. I m always changing things.
