Tangiers Phunnel Bowl

Recommended Posts

Yo everyone,

I just ordered a medium Tangiers Phunnel bowl for my Mya Obelisk. Does anyone use one on an obelisk? Also I'm a little concerned the medium might be too big. Will I have to pack it fat to get thick smoke?

Oh and I've read a lot of people talking about how to prepare the foil for the Phunnel, I'm prolly gonna do one kinda bigger hole in the middle and lots of little ones on the outside, whataya think?

i just got a small phunnel
this video will show you what you want to do with tangiers and nakhla
as far as packing and hole patterns

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OptC1otpLt0...feature=related

and if my small phunnel can fit on my 10 inch mya bambino
i promise a medium will fit on a 30 inch obelisk
one thing you have to watch sometimes with bigger bowls that if your coal falls off the bowl, it might miss the ashtray
but with that hookah and that size ashtray, you should be just fine

anyway, Stuie has an obelisk and smokes tangiers phunnels
he'll be the authority

I like lots of big holes (~120) with a flower of about 10 smaller holes over the phunnel.

really?? can u post a pic cause i thought alot of holes on tangeirs was bad haha

no, more holes = less heat .
less holes = more heat, thats why people get it wrong when they use their hole pattern and throw 3 coco's on tangiers when it should take 1 1/2.

I never even thought about that. So are you saying you get less heat when you poke more holes, or you have to use more coals when you poke more holes?

I have always poked a bunch of holes in my bowl and have to use 3-4 coals to get a good smoke, where I know many people on here can get by with 1-2 coals. Maybe that is my problem. I am thinking about starting a topic on this...

i think he's saying that when you poke more holes, you use less coals because the holes direct more heat straight to the shisha and less holes direct less heat towards the shisha, meaning you have to add more coals
