haze605
I just got a new 250g box of Nakhla Cardamom and it was pretty dry. I was wondering if there is a general or basic amount of glycerin that anybody adds to a box of Nakhla when they get it.
mattarios2
5 tblspoons per 250g, just makes it moist rather than really dry.

I probably should have figured this. I've had a lot of Al-Waha that comes really dry, but smokes really well. Thanks for the tip.

mattarios2
u guys are insane that claim it cuts the taste. you get the same great taste and way bigger clouds. adding glyc doesn't do anything to the tobacco but give you bigger clouds and makes a bowl last longer. you dont NEED to add anything, but if you want to, 5 tblspoons is perfect and the shisha just gets more sticky, it isn't soaked, or dripping or anything. antouwan
i don't know what kind of head you're using to smoke the nakhla out of but i use a tang phunnel and i don't mess with the tobacco once i get it anymore. i used to add glycerine and honey and all that to try and compensate for what nakhla was 'lacking' but i realized that they make it like that for a reason....i learned nakhla wasn't 'lacking' anything and that it just needed a different pack than everything else. i've had to throw out at least two boxes of nakhla because i thought it would be a good idea to mess with something that was already damn near perfect...imo, adding glycerine and honey et al just kills the flavor and the life of the bowl prematurely. you'd be much better off just packing it more densely and poking a greater quantity of larger holes.short answer: none.why?: read above. mattarios2
i lose no flavor, get a longer burn, and i add glyc and i do not add honey.could also be the diff types of glyc we are using. the stuff from michaels adds no taste, loses no taste, and it burns for quite a long time. i don't get the stuff soaked, it just makes the nak go from dry dry to sticky, i only add it to the stuff that is fully dry and not sticky. haze605
I finally got around to smoking this "as is," and it was amazing. I've never gotten this much flavor from shisha. Thanks for the suggestions to smoke it the way it arrived.

obeyfluffy
i think its something that just takes a bit of messing around with and personal preferencesome people would rather it just taste betterwhile others would rather have huge clouds so they look like a boss. i would suggest that if you are going to add anything to it, that you should first smoke it as it comes, so you know how it is without anything, then i would divide it up and add different amounts or mixtures or whatever to it and smoke each and compare.experimentation, even if it fails and you end up just liking what was originally there, doesn't hurt anything. mattarios2
If you add just enough glyc the flavor is the exact same with or without glyc. I think people just went around adding tubs and tubs of glyc making it look like fantasia and complained about flavor loss.if you only add "some" it just makes the tobacco a little more oily, makes it last longer, and gives bigger clouds ... with the exact same flavor. But the nak i have been getting lately has been much more oily so i haven't been adding anything.
