Z2G
Hey,Order 4 boxes from thehookah.com for Shishaco natural coals because of the great deal they have. Although it changes the taste of the shisha. Does anyone else have the same problem with these coals or any advice on them?Thanks,-Christian
Zinite
How are you lighting them?
Showtime07
I have had no change in taste personally. I think they are pretty good
ColibriDon
They are really great coals at an even better price point. I love them.
Zinite
I had trouble with the first couple packets in my first box (for those of you that haven't tried them, each row is wrapped in plastic). But besides that, they last as long as Cocos. Just as good as John's coals, but they ash easier IMO.
cotsi95
Just got them in last week, They last a lot longer then AF cocos and dont really have a taste, the ash is the same as cocos, af cocos, HJ's, etc.Overall i like them
Z2G
I lite them with a coil burner
mjdx88
Cook them till they have a slight flame, which is a bit longer after they are all red. On a side note right now with the discount its a pretty good price, same amount of cocos naras in the 5 pack but for 30 bucks. Otherwise from what I have seen all of these cost about the same when come paired to a 5 pack.Pack of cocos ~ 84 pieces = 13/14 bucks3 packs of shishaco ~ 75 = 10 bucks Edited June 8, 2009 by mjdx88
Genie
Any problem lighting the Shishacos with a gas stove, do you think? I just ordered them and have never lit coals before. Total noob. Anyway, I'm trying to figure out how best to light them while I impatiently wait for my hookah order to arrive. I don't have a coil element. I live so far out in the middle of nowhere, no idea if I'll be able to get a coil burner before my order arrives--and don't you know that I want everything ready when it does? I've already invested so much in this! Well, I just won't tell hubby. Thank you!

Thank you!well, if that's the case. you can use a gas stove to light pretty much any coal. i just rotate it more compared to using a coil burner.coil burner: flip once a few minutes in.gas stove: i place it on the circle thing where the flame comes out(lol, sorry don't know the term). i flip it over once a few minutes in. then i let the other side get lit. rotate so the opposite side gets lit, then flip it over again. I think I'll just put the coals in it for easy flipping and so the coals are sitting right in the flame. If that proves to be too much of a pain, I'll break down and buy the coil. Thanks for the input!

Other people use computer fan grilles, baskets, any metal wire thing I suppose. I used a barbecue grill at a friend's house recently. Shouldn't be a pain at all.
