moses_moselle
My dad brought up a really good point the other day. He asked what people used waaay back when, before tin foil was invnted, to cover the shisha and "transfer heat". Did they just put coals right on the shisha? antouwan
the 'shisha' (complete misnomer...i have no idea how shisha became known as tobacco in the states but ANYWAY) didn't look/feel/have any of the properties of today's tobaccos. short answer, yes, they did just put the coals straight on the tobacco
gunsboy
I know older people that never used foil. But they smoke something called Jrak. Nasty stuff. They just wash it and squeeze it and put the coal on.
fineout
look up the posts about tombak, molasses shisha is fairly new (i think around the 1960s-70s) and foil was definately around during that time, before that it was just tobacco with coal on top.
