PSU Smoker
Firsty Id like to say this Bill is bullshit...why the fuck can't I smoke a flavored cigarette if I want to. I'm of legal age and have the decision making skills to make my choice...smoke the cig or dont. QUOTE (BohoWildChild @ Jun 22 2009, 09:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>What worries me most of all is the news reports keep saying over and over and over...... "Candy flavored tobacco products". Can anyone think of anything more candy flavored than our tobacco? I'm sorry but I think everyone is going to be surprised that we end up one of the early targets.'RaniAlso I know the "candied" portion of the bill is targeting the candy cigarette producers...you know those deliciously tasty pieces of candy that look like cigs everyone used to love when they were kids...hell I have a pack or two of them in my house now and im 20 lol. As far as the bill goes I'm all for larger and more descript warning labels or w/e. The warning labels in Canada scared the living hell out of me. They basically said every cig you smoke kills a small child, or that if you smoke a cig you wont be able to get it up. I also think shisha is safe for now, and if it does get hit by the bill I think there is going to be a lot of unhappy people and black markets and so on and so forth just like prohibition because its bullshit to tell me I can smoke a cig but not shisha. PSU Smoker
oh also looking at the legislation it looks like the worst case scenario would be that no flavoring could be added 3 months after the signing of the bill..which means we have 3 months to find out what exactly this means for us. Also worst come to worse I think Shisha companies would just ship DIY shisha. You could receive the tobacco and the flavoring un-mixed and simply mix it together and let it acclimate. Plex
Like they are really doing it for 'our health'? lol.... certainly some money/alterior motives involved.... like all the trends in the gov't recently... it is sad to say they will not stop here... this is yet another stepping stone to further restrictions of our freedom..The way the media is generalizing it to be 'tobacco' rather than cigarettes definitely doesn't look good for hookah as we know it...... hookah hippie
Though I guess this bill doesn't technically ban flavored hookah tobacco as far as I know. How long until that bill exists. When will smokers be allowed to smoke?

The bill has passed. The question is, when will they start lowering the amount of nicotine that's legal per cigarette/can of snuff/cigars/etc.

You could receive the tobacco and the flavoring un-mixed and simply mix it together and let it acclimate.I've read the legislation. I'm not worried. I don't think any of you should be, either. The only stupid part of the legislation is banning flavored cigarettes, specifically flavored cigarettes. There is a section in the legislation that involves putting an ingredient list on each package and it says that flavoring doesn't need to be spelled out any more than natural and artificial flavorings...that is the ingredients of flavorings don't need to be spelled out...why would they do that if they were banning flavoring?? The legislation is fairly clear and it doesn't deal with pipe tobacco (hookah tobacco) at all. I mean, in any capacity, pipe tobacco isn't covered in any restrictive regulations, just real safety ones, with the rest of tobacco. The U.S. Media is full of shit. They like to whip up BS controversy for its own sake and they don't care about reporting facts. They intentionally distort, lie, misrepresent and twist what really is the case. When you see the results of what this legislation does, remember me saying this and you will never trust the media again, because the results will be mostly good, a little bad, but it won't interfere with hookah tobacco.Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'll be selling Tangiers foundation and flavoring separately. Not worth worrying about.
