mohinder
I've sat on this one for a little while by request of the guy that told me about them, so he could get some cash together before they all went. hookahshop are now stocking CocoBricos and Cocochas, at £4.99 a kilo for CocoBricos and £14.99 for 3kilos of Cocochas. The cocochas pictured on the site are in the red packaging, but I received the yellow packaging - which are half the size of the giant red box ones. They're about twice the size of a CH natural (the only other coconut coals I've used), last noticeably longer (an hour and a half isn't unusual with a windcover for the last bit) and make even less ash. They take forever to light though. We actually finally can get decent coals at a decent price! Hurrah!
the_cool
I was meaning to get back to you mohinder but ill add what i found out so far from the vendors here. I asked if they have the yellow or red label but they said they stock whatever the picture is of on the site, which doesn't make sense as mohinder recieved a different one. Still need to clarify with them if they have red label of yellow label cocochas, if anyone finds out please let us know!
mohinder
All I know is that I got the yellow ones, and they're almost square. Like 2 CH coals stuck together. Now the introductory price on Cocochas has gone away and they're £14.99 they're the same price as cocobricos anyway (until they go back up to £6.99)
Namenone
Only thing is, postage is £4.99, a little of a rip off?
mohinder
QUOTE (namenone1 @ Jun 12 2009, 04:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Only thing is, postage is £4.99, a little of a rip off? It's annoying when you're just getting a couple of bits yeah, but it's flat rate, it's a fiver for anything. £20 delivered for 3 kilos of very good coals is fine by me though , £6.60 a kilo. The yanks pay about $14 a kilo without delivery for coconaras and CHs.

mohinder
QUOTE (namenone1 @ Jun 12 2009, 05:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Ok im going to order Cococha Pure Natural Charcoal 3kg. Are these coals any good? only have tried Cocos really, can this compare with them? They're the nuts. Bit bigger than Cocos (as far as I'm told, I've only used CH and these). They're very dense and they take a good while to light, like ten minutes, but they burn forever. Hour and a half easy, no exaggeration at all. Make hardly any ash. I reviewed them here.I got some CH coals through the post the other day and I prefer the cocochas. Burn a lot longer, less ash.Even if you do get the red ones you can saw them in half (seriously saw they're really hard to cut), it'll be a pain in the arse though. I think the_cool has used the red ones cut in half before. Edited June 12, 2009 by mohinder
