The Caterpillar
Just to get it out of the way--- I do NOT smoke them out/shotgun/contact-cloud or whatever you might think; I'm an animal nut and against any form of that. But I do notice that my cat is incredibly interested in my shisha. She's pretty independent so it's not just that she sees that I'm inactive and wants attention. She was ALL up in my face when I'd exhale and followed the smoke until it disappeared. In fact, the only time I saw her today was outside during my smoking session. Any one else notice their animals taking interest in your shisha? Maybe the smell? Maybe seeing smoke coming out of me that she isn't used to? My blind dog seems to care less, smell or otherwise. Maybe the cat's jealous that she can't blow rings...?
MeMyselfAndMark
Ahhh yes, animal jealousy is quite common, especially because of our mythical thumbs. My dog loves to come and chill with us when we smoke. He is a big fan of going after the smoke rings.
Ralleac
My ferret is pretty interested in the hookah, but he's interested in just about everything in sight... My cat couldn't care less. Edited June 13, 2009 by Ralleac

blastoffbrett
When I was at my friends we were smoking some lucid passion fruit and her dog jumped on my lap and would lick the smoke when I exhaled. Even dogs know Tangiers is the shit
neffertiti
my cat used to think it was awesome and just wander around in our smoke, but then time she tried to "smell" one of the coals. now, she stays away.
Zyram
My dogs show only passing interest, probably for the smells that are there. I don't have any cats atm so I can't say about cats, the two at my grandparents place don't care about it one way or another. My dogs will just lay at my feet or in my lap and chill with me.-Z

Matt-641
My dog hates it when I smoke. That's why my room's door is usually closed whenever I smoke, don't want it to bother her.

gunsboy
My cat used to go nuts on the bubbles in the base, and the hose. But now she is fat and old, she has no interest.
Rani
I have two Siamese cats. Kaballah at 30 pounds of blue eyes and bad attitude just ignores my smoking. She doesn't even notice. Kabuki, the tabby point is much more opinionated and is the most vocal cat I've ever seen. He'll leave the room as soon as I start packing a bowl, curl up in the hallway and grumble at me every time he hears the pipe rumble on the inhale. Both of them have gotten into the tobacco before though and eaten enough to be on a nicotine buzz for a full day. I'm really careful about where I acclimate since that happened.'Rani

ryno
Alot of smaller dogs are always curious about the hookah, then I purge it, and they tend to stay away from it. Cats always seem intrigued by it though

mitchard
My roommates cat always comes out and chills. If anyone blows smoke in his general direction, he jets though. I have never seen a 30 pound cat move that fast.
coastlines
My cat just liked being in the garage when I smoke and I think it is all the exploring he can do and not due to the hookah. He does like to come close to my hookah when i'm pulling but i think it is the sound of the water in the base more than anything else.
