What's The Difference...

Recommended Posts

Heyy, I've been smoking hookah for a while now, and I just recently joined this site. One thing i noticed right away was the names of all the different tobaccos, one being Tangiers.

Can somebody please tell me the difference between tangiers and starbuzz?
and the advantages and disadvantages?

thanks!

2 words: Flavor longevity.

2 more: And price.

That's the big difference. Tangiers is a great quality product with longevity and rich flavor. Starbuzz is easy to smoke but has longevity and price issues. I cant justify 22 bucks on a subpar shisha that doesnt last 30 mins flavor wise.

Starbuzz is easy to smoke well, but the flavor isn't as rich/deep/complex nor does it last long...

Tangiers has rich, deep, sometimes complex flavors, but you gotta learn how to make it smoke right.

i don't know why you guys are having longivity problems with starbuzz. I consistantly get 1.5-2 hour sessions from blue mist and tangerine dream.

the price is the only real difference, but if you like the flavors, then the price shouldn't matter that much

I wouldnt say that starbuzz doesnt last, but it for sure doesnt last like tangiers, in my miniphunnel i can pack anything i want and get like 2 hours out of it, but when i pakc tangeirs in it its double at least.

But the biggest difference in those two for me is that starbuzz tastes like plastic and tangiers doesnt, so why pay way way more for something i dont think tastes good?

OK, guys, if he is a troll, that remains to be seen. Maybe he is a regular smoker who doesn't like Forums. Cut the guy a break.

Exactly. Thanks.

No problem. I wish I could answer your question honestly, but I make Tangiers, so it might be seen as self-promotional, even if I were honest. Don't pay attention to some of these guys....they have cathode ray dysfunction exacerbated by LCD displays which manifests itself as rudeness. smile.gif Hope you enjoy your stay here.

Pick up some Tangiers lucid and give it a try for yourself wink.gif I doubt you will be disapointed.

Starbuzz has been known to some people to have more of a chemicalish taste but still taste good no doubt, compared to the real flavor.

Tangiers is known for having extremely accurate taste and flavor when you compare it to the real flavor. A great example is Orange Soda imo...every flavor I have tried so far has been wonderful biggrin.gif

There are plenty of other differences between the two tobacco's, though. Just throwing in my two cents.

is this in a phunnel or an egyptian? i can get a good amount of flavor from my phunnel for a while, but i can tell the flavor dies down throughout the session. this is with blue mist too.

and if you are proud of your 2 hour sessions...get some Tangiers, smoke with full flavor for about 6 hours and try not to jizz in your pants.

haha...jk.

starbuzz is super sweet and artificial tasting (which isn't always bad, but I prefer natural flavors) and very easy to get a good sesh from.

Tangiers is super finicky, but once success is reached it's apparently the bee's knees (or some such metaphor for greatness).

Oh, it's cool. I think I'll try out some tangiers. Is there anything I have to do differently? Like, different bowls or coals? Thanks, youre a lot of help.

read the directions!!! haha...seriously, there are directions on the package...try and follow that and hopefully, you get a good session. also, there's a help line...give that a call if you're struggling too!

other than that, there's loads of tangiers packing techniques and what not...give the forum a search...there's not dead set way...but some work better than others...

when packing for the first time, i'd lean more to the overpacking and overly compressing the shisha into the bowl...as opposed to underpacking and not compressing enough. the former may give you decent results, which will make you want to continue to perfect your technique....the latter will make you cough and gag.

i have "i'm lazy and want to smoke a bowl of tangiers" video that you can check out. i think it doesn't involve anything special...you're just grabbing clumps of tobacco and putting it in the bowl. anyways, check it out.

i actually watched the video again and i can tell you, i don't pack my bowls like that anymore. i actually use less shisha and compress it down a bit more. i still get good smoke. however...now thinking about it, the method in the video actually gave me better sessions...i may have to switch techniques again. hahaa....
