Received my hookah, a few questions

Recommended Posts

Just recieved my QT MYASaray hookah and I must say it was very fast shipping and im greatly pleased with the product.  However, it came with no instructions and this is my first hookah.  I looked up how to set it up with online tutorials and I made sure it was air tight, etc.  But I have a few more questions though.1. I hear MYASaray hoses are washable, and I was wondering what the best way to do so is?2. Is a metal screen or foil a better choice?3. Also, are there any tips you guys have when setting everything up that might not be in a normal tutorial? Thanks again for your time.Kyle

hey, congrats on the purchase.  you'll love it!   I prefer foil, but I could see why people would prefer the screen, as it is easier to setup.  I usually just run hot water through the hose, until the water comes out clear.  you can also use lemon juice and then let it sit over night, this should get rid of any flavor from what you smoked before.  as far as setup, i know some people say one coal, or two.  i've found with my qt, the best smoke is when i have one and a half coals on the bowl.  good luck!  let us know how you like it.

That about covers the hose washing...I rinse with water, lemon juice, then water again, go outside and twirl it around over my head to whip out any excess water and then hang it to dru over night...
You want to avoid smoking with it still wet as it will trap crud faster.
I myself use screens. Just a matter of practicing heat management with whatever you use. I like the screens because i usually dont fill my bowl to the top, and foil will often sag unless it's sitting on the tobacco...in my experience.
watch out you don't fill the vase up too high..with smaller hookahs its easier to get water splashing up into your hoses I've found. Other than that experimenting is half the fun.

what I did with my QT is make a mark with a sharpie, this way I always fill it up to the right height.  Ony problem I have with the QT is the inside of the bot has no glazeing, i think it is called that, so all the oils from the massal get absorbed my the bowl.  I have not noticed it affecting taste just makes it look bad.  I will have to try that lemon juice with the hose.  To dry mine I used one of those copmputer duster cans or a co2 bottle and blow air through it slowly to dry it out.
