Coal Quality

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I am new and I belong to a few forums so sorry if this is a newb question. I have been smoking hookah for a year or two now, but just recently bought my own. The coals I have seem to be nothing like the ones at hookah bars. They seem to burn like shit, so I realize that different quality of coals are out there. Are there any in particular I should look for when I hit up my head shop for some? Thanks in advance

If you want quick lighting coal (that you can use a lighter on) I would recommend 3 Kings brand, made in Holland.

Are there "generic" coals out there? The ones that came with my hookah and the ones I bought (thinking they were better) just seems bad. The coals I am used to using light up orange on each puff, the coals I have you can hardly tell they are lit...

I have used golden coals for quite some time now and have had no problems. I'm trying out some coconaras which being on this forum it seems alot of people use and like them.

There is a lot of cheap garbage out there. Stick with 3 kings for now, or go to the review section and check out some reviews on other quicklights. You'll be fine brother, just spend an extra 3 or 4 bucks and get quality coals... very much worth it.

If you think you have patience enough to let the coals warm up for about 10 minutes, you should give some good naturals a try. CocoNara or CH coals from hookahjohn.com are a really good choice. You'll notice the flavor and smell improves a lot with naturals.

If you're not out for quick lights, I second the CocoNara's
