mushrat
1st review! AF grape: The usual AF cut etc... Smells like a cross between concord grape jelly and a GOOD grape candy. None of the toostie pop taste of Nakhla. Tastes like it smells. A really nice grape taste..very sweet. Got a good head of smoke going with 2 inch or so chunks of finger coal AL Fakher seems to be falling by the wayside lately with all the other stuff comming out and getting popular, but it still has some VERY good flavours. I have some AA grape I got in trade I'll compare it to when I smoke that stuff... THANKS WYTEBOY!
HookahDuck
Still have that AF that you said you'd let me try a little of Mushy? I have a little starbuzz with your name on it if you do =)

wyteboy
Thanks mush for the thread!! hope you all enjoy the stuff I can't smoke since I got pneumonia twice in a 6month period and my lungs are currently destroyed...Hopefully a VERY solid break from the hookah, talking a year or 2, and I can get back in the hookah saddle...with a new hookah and some new ma'assel and all of that...before I hit Mush up with that endeavor years from now, thought you would all enjoy trying the stuff I can't smoke anymore!!Mush, glad you liked the grape!! IT is a VERY candy grape flavor and very sweet. Sometimes after 30-45mins the sweetness can get a bit overwhelming but it does taste very good.....sounds weird I know but something I recommend is a regular AF Apple + Grape mix. The grape is overpowering and the apple is a softer sweet so I'd recommend about an 80/70apple to 20/30grape ratio, but it's pretty good!!
mushrat
Newest review: AF cherry: Now, we smoked this stuff at the local cafe. Used my QT with a screen and some finger coals. Its typical AF cut and very wet. Usual bright red. It SMELLS like sweet cherry candy. Very sweet and syrupy. The taste was not nearly as strong. It was definitly cherry, and it lasted a decent amount of time before petering out. But it wasn't super strong tasting. Some of the others said they stoped tasting the flavour before i did, I think the starbuzz SS blend we were smoking in the other hookah may have coloured their opinions, and their palates. (review of that is in the "more strbuzz reviews" thread started by lakemonster.) I'm going to set this one up at home and try it again and see if I can't get some more flavour out of this puppy. I'm lookin foreward to seeing what some of you tohers I've sent samples to think... Thanks Wyte...
Lukasa
Man, pneumonia?? Is it attributed to your previous hookah entusiasm? Or was it other factors that were compounded by hookah smoking. either way man, i feel for ya, that sounds like a tough bout with illness you had there. Stay healthy man. Best wishes. mushrat
Latest review: AF strawberry: Standard wet Af cut and bright red colouring. This wes definitly Starwberry flavoured. But it wasn't a real sweet overpowering Strawberry. More of a muted taste. Still good though. So far AF ESK Apple, melon, and Lemon are still my favorite AF Flavours. I know some of you folks must have gotten my samples by now...you all promised reviews in this thread..so come on folks. Thanks again Wyteboy! mushrat
Now, I sent out some samples of this stuff and I've seen NO reviews. I sent them out wit the understanding that we'd keep this topic going.... I'll try one more time...I have AF single apple,AF grape, Tangiers cinimon, and tangiers Raspberry left from the Wyteboy stuff..if you don't review it here I call down upon you Bad Karma... I have 2 samples worth of the AF stuff and 2-3 worth of the Tangiers. I also can send out samples of the Lauran fruits flavour (thats what it says) Reviewed in my thread that no one else here has ever tried. I also have some King peach I can send out. If you ask real nice..there's even a little AA caramel apple left. If you've never gotten a sample from me and have been around say less than 6 months but have more than 20 posts. PM me. I'll pm you back and tell you whats I have left and give you your choice of 2. If you have something to offer in trade, so much the better, but its not required. Trying to get some trading going again around here and move part of my stash at the same time...
Hookah_bob2
I got some of those samples from mushy, but completely forgot about reviewing them after I had a hectic week or two.Anyway, here's what I had: Tangiers Blueberry, AA Grape, AF AppleTangiers BlueberrySetup: Mya QT, nour naturalsSmell: It's a strangely unique scent, though definitely blueberry. It seems to have that crisp tartness that blueberries occasionally have. (3.5/5)Smoke: I was still experimenting (and still am currently adjusting my packing and coal amounts) with the coal, though I had roughly 1.5" total of nour coals on which produced semi-thick clouds. They were thick enough to satisfy me but were not "where'd your face go?" thick, but that's solely because I didn't want to risk burning the shisha by adding more coal. (3.5/5)Taste: Had a very accurate blueberry flavor that seems to fill the mouth moreso than other ma'assels, providing an almost filling sense to the smoke. It's been a while, so I can't remember many of the minute details of the flavor, so I'll get back to you once I get tangiers to smoke like it should. (4.5/5)Overall: 3.8, though easily 4.3-4.5 once the Tangiers method is perfected
Hookah_bob2
And I'd review the others, but I think everyone has had AF apple (and I messed up the bowl) and my friend smoked all my grape, though I'll write down what he said it was like.AA GrapeSetup: Mya QT, nour naturalsSmell: Grape. Just...grape. The purple ones. (4/5)Smoke: Thick. Used about 2-2.5" total coal which produced a very thick white and billowy smoke stack. (4.5/5)Flavor: Vaguely reminiscent of Welch's grape juice, as another review stated. Very flavorful grapiness that was an amazing burst for about a half our and then faded into something...different. (4.5/5 then 3.5/5)Overall: 4.5 then 4Thanks again Mushrat for the samples. Much appreciated. Now where'd that Starbuzz go?

thepyrofish
I got my samples today, thanks again mushrat! It may just be that I use a QT bowl, but these are quite generous samples. I will honestly get 3 or 4 smokes out of each. I'm trying out the AA Caramel Apple right now with a buddy of mine. It was actually his sister that got me started on all of this, so I'll probably smoke it with her tomorrow for another opinion. I'll post up more later when I'm finished. thepyrofish
Ok, haven't tried it with the second friend yet but I'll post anyway.AA Caramel AppleI use a Mya QT w/ the stock bowl, foil and 3 kinds coals. I went through 3 and a half but never more than .75-1 at a time. It's bright red, smells pretty good and is cut so fine it appeared almost shredded. It felt slightly gritty in my hands. First time I've smoked this brand so I'll just assume that's normal.Once I got it smoking, the caramel flavour really came out. The apple was there, but it definately takes a backseat in this shisha. The caramel flavour was what I expected in that it was as much of a spice flavour as it was actual caramel. It was definately much richer and creamier tasting than the Nakhla caramel I have though. It reminded me more of a butterscotch candy than a caramel, really. The smooth buttery undertones were present throughout the bowl, even toward the end when the flavour waned. I think the next bowl may present some slight changes in the flavour profile, as my friend has years more practice than I do with heat management. With that, I move on to:Smoke! I never got that thin, wispy smoke that drives you oh so mad. I didn't quite get the thick cottony clouds I had hoped for, either. It was still good smoke, it was more than enough to make me happy. I just think that with a little more practice or a slightly more experienced hand it could have been a little better, and revealed a little more complexity and richness to the flavour. Overall, I would say that this is a 4.6 out of five. Though my experience is limited, and the maassels I've tried could be counted without using your toes, this is pretty highon my favourites list. Bar any horribleness in the next bowl or two, I'll be ordering some when I can.THANKS MUSH!*Sorry this is so long, it's a habit from reviewing cigars. mushrat
No need to be sorry, it's a fine review with good details. Glad you enjoyed it, to be honest *I* wasn't nearly as impressed...but thats why its good to have many people review the same stuff over and over, everyone has a different opinion. Keep up the good work!
thepyrofish
I'm considering firing up my rig and trying the cinnamon right now...Ok, ok you talked me into it.Wow, I'm not funny!
thepyrofish
Well, I did try the cinnamon when I posted that ^, but I was doing other stuff and not really paying attention. Also the beef jerky and beer kinda numbed my tastebuds to the subtler nuances of the flavour . I'm gong to try it again this afternoon.
Alqoshnia
hey pyro let me know how the cinnamon tastes and smokes. I got the same sample of the Tangiers Cinnamon and I got it to smoke smooth, the smoke was reasonably thick not massive, but just no flavor whatsoever. Hey mush how did the cinnamon smoke for you? thepyrofish
Well, I didn't smoke a second bowl yet...it was raining and my hookah was 2 buildings over The first one did definately taste like cinnamon. Not strong like gum but smooth like you were baking with it almost. Then I ate jerky and didn't taste anything.
mushrat
Alqos: I never smoked it...not my bag flavour wise in general, so I sent out all I had to yu guys.
