Brumonkey
Hey guys! Sorry its been a while since my last post. Work has been a pain but the weekends have become prime time hookah time! Anyway, I was hanging out with a friend from a neighboring town last night and we fired up a bowl of X2 Apple. It went pretty well after the coals took, very strong taste and somewhat dissappointing smoke density (Full review later), but about a half hour after that i had previously blended AA Orange and Nakhla Mint just to give it a whirl. The mint was WAY over powering. I tried to keep it as close as i could to a 50/50 mix with eyes and fingers. Can anyone suggest a ratio where the mint is just a subtle undertone? Percentage and oz/g measurements would help greatly! Danke Schön!
ataneja
i'm not sure if i can give a percentage, but the mint you can pretty much taste regardless of how much you put in it. i'd say maybe try 25/75, or even less than that.
HookahEnthusiast
yea id say go a 25/75 mix and try that out....but like anything with hookah it usually takes some trial and error to get it just right....
HookahCaterpillar
Mint is a verryy strong flavor. Thats the main reason why i cant stand smoking any mint flavor. I would make it like 90% orange and 10% mint. Also make sure you put it in some kind of container and shake it up so the mint and orange are mixed thoroughlly so your not smoking a spot of mint. EsOva
personally, i dont mix citrus flavors with mint...for example, if i wanted to smoke orange, i wouldnt smoke it alone but i would mix maybe berries or banana with it...and as for the mint, i would do the same, mix it with other fruits or delights but i wouldnt mix mint with citrus...so moral of the story, i think citrus flavors (orange, guava, lemon lime) and mint should be additives to the main source of flavor...my .02 cents
skiracerj1
I have to somewhat disagree with es0va on this one, i think orange mint is a great combo, probably one of my favorite flavors. As far as how much to mix, like what everyone else said, its takes some experimenting but start off by going way light on the mint, like not much more than just a pinch of mint and then the rest orange, also I've found it can kinda help to put the mint on the bottom and the orange on top. It may just be mental but it seems to work, dont know why though. Anyways good look and happy smoking!
