Flavoring Question

Recommended Posts

Ok so i have been thinkin about makin my own shisha for a long time. I have a ton of blackberries and was plannin on makin some shisha with those by mashing the berries and mixing with water and reducing it to syrup and then using it for flavor.
So i was thinking i cant just live on one flavor so i was wondering what other flavors i could make with what i have. Then i remembered i have about 8 pounds of mint leaves growing in my garden. So i was thinkin i could go for mint too. But i was wonderin if you guys thought i could produce mint flavoring by doing something simular just reducing it to syrup.

What do you guys think?

Me and one of the other guys that work in our bar make shisha. I am going to strongly recomend against using the syrup idea. The shelf life on the tobacco drops dramatically if you use flavorings that you have made. I think it has to do with the tobacco rotting/fermenting. We have been sticking to flavorings from baking specialty stores lately. They give a good life on the shisha and can give incredible ammounts of flavor.

If you have any specific brands for flavouring, I'd like to check them out online.

Im not all that concerned with shelf life currently since im only going to make it for me. But what i am concerned with is using tobacco and the ingredidents i already have.

AS for the tobacco ferminting, im not sure about that, in all the places i have read about cigar making it says after the tobacco is cured it is allowed to ferment some before rolling.
