DistortedTruth
I've been smoking the 50g Nahkla shisha that thehookah gave me with my hookah. It smelled straight through the box just like it should, but when smoked I could barely taste it. I'm thinking it may be the coals but even if it is, I want to acclimate it to get better flavor out of it. I have the 3 flavors sitting in tubberware right now on my dresser after mixing it all up as if I was about to pack a bowl. How long should I let them sit? Doubon
12-24 hrs, and/or until it smells right.
DistortedTruth
That's the thing. They do smell right. But they don't taste right/like anything. It's a VERY mild flavor when I do taste it.
Doubon
how are you packing it? which bowl? how much coal?My perfect Nakhla setup is the baccy in a phunnel packed tightly with 2 CH naturals each cut in half.Acclimation may not be necessary so if that fails try experimenting with the setup.Nakhla can take a little more heat than some other brands to get right. DistortedTruth
Will do guys. Thanks. The coals I have suck so it may be them. They completely take the flavor out. I've also been packing and poking holes wrong so it could be any of those things. But acclimation wont hurt.

DistortedTruth
Way too tight. I don't really sprinkle. I take a pinch full, put it in, pack it down, repeat. And I do that several times. Oh and for the holes, I never push down all the way to the bottom of the bowl. srawas89
If you are using a standard Egyptian bowl sprinkle the tobacco in and do not stop until the tobacco is about 0.5cm above the bowl (about hte thickness of 2 nickles on top of each other). Than place the foil on the bowl and make it air tight. Poke a hole in the center of the bowl and make circles of holes all around the center hole until you reach the edge of the bowl. As far as coals its diff. per brand of coals so you will have to experiment with that. I have found that this works best at least for me. Hope all goes well as Nakhla is quite the brand (my favorite).
