Many thanks to Wade and Mike for the hose!
And many thanks to K1024 for hosting the hookahfest and having me over!
I brought my KM ice and K1024 had his Obelisk and Leila. I was told that sjcrain brought his hookah as well, but I didn't get there early enough for that. We tested the Roka hose out on both my KM ice and his Obelisk. For obvious reasons, we didn't test is out on the Leila. We tested it against my KM hose and his Mya hose. My KM hose is about 5-6 months old I think and does have a leak. Here are some pics. I posted all of these in the smokefest thread, but I am guessing not everyone would bother checking it so I thought I would make another thread.

I am going to just do the review for the KM ice, I will let K1024 review it for the Obelisk, his will probably be a bit better than mine because he owns the hose and can look at it while reviewing and I cannot because I don't own one.

Here is my review of the hose:
Setup: KM 34" ice, small Tangiers phunnel with tealight mod, water in vase about 1-1.5" above down-stem, CH QL coals, mixture of AF and Layalina baccy.
Durability: 9.5/10
This hose is seemed extremely durable. The tip and the hose port connector thing are much better than the pictures make them out to be. We did not run over them or try to break them for obvious reasons, but they felt nice and durable. Hose is nice and durable as well, I wouldn't be afraid to step on it or throw it against a brick wall. The only thing I take off .5 for is that the metal piece that connects the tip and port tip to the hose looks like it make not be as durable, this is only a guess though, we didn't attempt to destroy it and I am trying to be as honest as possible.

Constructiveness: 9/10
The hose does not constrict much at all. I personally found that it constricted much less than the Mya, but did constrict more than my KM, but keep in mind my KM leaks. I did have to put a little more effort than breathing for the Roka, but I was also using a tea light mod that restricts a lot of airflow (this is why K1024 will probably have a better review)

Smoke: 10/10 Holy shit this thing smokes good! I got huge clouds with it. Tip was nice and wide, the hose port tip fit nicely into the hose port, good smoke all around. I always liked my KM hose, then I tried this thing and my eyes lit up! I was able to get soo much more smoke out of it because it doesn't leak and doesn't constrict! I really like seeing the smoke in the hose as well.

Leaks: none!

Looks: 8.5/10 Good looking hose, but I really like big handles. That is a personal preference though. If you don't mind not having the big handles, then this is the hose for you. It really looks a lot nicer in person than in pics. I personally thought at first it looked like a dollar store POS, but when I got there and held it and looked at it, you can tell it is good quality, I really like the hose. Like I said, I like big handles. If they put big handles on it, it would for sure be a 10/10.

Flexibility: 8/10 It is very flexible for what it is, but it still is a little tight. I noticed we did have a little bit of a hard time passing it, but then we got the lazy susan out smile.gif . It is much more flexible than I thought it would be. Of course, it is not as flexible as my KM, but for being rubber, it is pretty damn good. I am guessing the more you use it the better it will get as well.

Overall: 9/10 Great hose, honestly great hose. I plan to buy one as soon as I get back to school. I take off for it being a tad more constrictive than my KM (could have been from the leak in my hose though, K1024 said he felt like the Roka has less constricting, so personal preference?), the metal connector looking like it may not be the most durable (not testing, just guess, K1024 can give more insight, he owns it, I don't), and it doesn't have the big handles that I like.

Wish I'd stayed for the photoshoot smile.gif

I really like the hose material, nice and flexible with a great pull.

The mouthpiece was of good build quality, but not really my preference. I'd love to see a hose like this with some absurdly long, curved, and ornate mouthpiece.

Do they break down for cleaning?

unfortunately no. fortunately the entire hose is washable, so you dont have to worry about breaking it down.

yeah, it was hotter than expected so i made this right before people started showing. turned out awesome, there was still ice in it the next morning when i woke up... I dont usually spend time to cool my base, but when your smoking outside on a hot day its awesome.
