SimplexCoda
Some people should have not had children. I mean i hate to be this way, but if you want join a community and then not follow their rules dont join. Its like wanting to move to another country, but not follow their laws. Chaz1337
That is exactly something I would say lol. I did appreciate the humor in it! It reminded me of Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes comic strips.I think that ban played beautifully into his plan.
Sonthert
QUOTE ("Hookah Forum Rules")8) Suspension durations will vary depending on the severity of the offense and history of the individual member. These are set by the Moderators and Administrators and are not open to discussion. Evilded777, and only evilded777 is allowed to lack class. Its all there, in black and white. Most people don't read the rules, let alone Rule#8...So anyways, a funny thing happened to me when I was a kid. My father told me "Don't ride your tricycle in the house." I felt that I didn't have to follow the rules and had great fun banging my tricycle into a sliding glass door...until I broke right through the sliding glass door. What do you think my father did? Did he laugh and say "That was funny!"? Did he buy me candy bar? Nope. He took away my tricycle. We don't put the rules up there as a joke; breaking them isn't funny. Flaunting the people who are trying to enforce them isn't funny. There are physical, tangible ramifications from our actions. I didn't have to pay for the sliding glass door, my parents did. Its great to not care about the consequences of our actions when we don't have to pay for what results from our indiscretions. The people who do have to deal with the problems, on the other hand really would like to have a simple acknowledgment that you are going to try to follow the rules to some degree. Every rule in the rules section is a reasonable rule. If I had told my dad "I don't have time to worry about your rules." he would have smacked me across the face and taken my tricycle away. Why? Because I wasn't showing respect for the rules he set down...which is worse than breaking the rules in the first place. The people that are trying to prevent people from fucking up have set up a series of rules. If you break the rules, you might lose your tricycle for some amount of time...if you tell them that you don't care about the rules...what do you think they should do? "OK, break shit in the house? I don't care..." What's the point of having rules to prevent things from happening if people aren't going to follow them? If somebody isn't even going to respect the existence of the rules...why would you assume they will follow them? If so, why wouldn't you take away their tricycle permanently? liquidglass
I agree, rules set in a community/country/city etc are there to be followed. If you don't like them, you have a choice not to adhere to them but you're also making the choice to accept whatever consequences come your way.Like speeding, most if not everyone speeds. You get a ticket, well it sucks, but it's the counterbalance to you breaking a rule. (not to say some cops aren't dicks)
