I'm fairly fond of Samuel Smith's nut brown and as far as lagers go.... Victory makes a good one, and Czechvar(sp?) is decent.
Not much of a drinker of either, but hope those help smile.gif

I'll second the Samuel Smith's Nut Brown. I'm not as big of a lager fan, but Schwarzbier is my all time favorite lager style, although it's not really representative of what most people associate with "lager"...if you haven't already check out beeradvocate.com, they've got ranked listings of different beers by style based on user reviews, it's a great resource.

Rogue Hazlenut Brown Nectar

hands down the best nut brown ale ever made... ever!

I'm taking your word for this and going to pick some up after work. Also nice avatar used to aggressive skate for years.

You might have to go to a specialty beer shop to find it... but when you find it, you won't be disappointed

I actually personally believe that Goose Island Nut Brown Ale is the best ever

TRY its Mush you'll like it... Oatmeal Stout is good if you like heavy dark beer, and Honkers is a tasty intermediate everyday beer

Don't want to threadjack, but speaking of Goose Island, do you know if it's pretty easy to find Bourbon County Stout in the Chicago area at this time of year? I've never had it before, heard it's phenomenal, and given that it isn't available 'round my area I was hoping that when I'm in Chicago next week I might be able to grab a few bottles. Think I'll have any luck?

Not to continue jacking but I really recommend the brew pub because there's a lot of stuff they sell there that never gets bottled for retail AND its freshly brewed there for you AND the prices are reasonable...

There used to be a specialty beer shop somewhere in raleigh, kinda in the ghet-to...but the guy was going to be going out of business he thought, and that was wayyy before the economy took a nose dive.

*ponders*.....
