I have been doing and loving photography for going on 5 years now. No matter what my life is like, its been my escape, and my passion, and no matter how my life changes i always come back to it. Its taken me most my life, but i found what i think im decent at, and what i love doing. Now i need to call on all of the people here at the forums, my other love, to help me make some hard choices.

A bit of info; my company is called Seven Photography. I finally also got a domain name since the most basic and best was taken: sevenphotographydfw.com And once i get some hard choices down ill start on the site. For now lets get moving on where i need yall biggrin.gif

Ill post here regularly when i need advice on designs, logos, and things like that, so lets start it off with one of the most imporant aspects to me as a designer, the logo. I've been playing with this idea of 7 diamonds for a while now, and I've come up with a few configurations, and I can't decide what i like best. Let me know what yall think wink.gif

Logo Design #1

Logo Design #2

Logo Design #3

So be blunt, tell me what you truly think. And remember this is just for the shape of the logo, colors and inner designs, as well as the text/font are all up to be changed.

And as always, I Luv Joo Guys laugh.gif

First one is for sure the best out of the three, and I really like the 7 diamonds design...good work man, and best of luck with your passion.

Yeah, of those three I like the first one, and definitely like the design idea. If you wanted it more symmetrical you could even try putting the diamond that is kind of off by itself overlapping the middle. But either way, that is a sweet idea to connect your name and logo.

Went with ones design, but it was made with hand made diamonds. I like everything as geometrically perfect as i can get it, so i redid it using perfect diamonds as a start, and made everything feel more... hmm how can i describe it. Well there a bit bigger, and... umm. Ah hell just look at it xD

very nice, badassery indeed! Although i think it would look even better scaled down a little bit. And i like the thicker white outline on the first one a little better.

Howdy ho, very nice designs, I love the colors and how the graphic itself reaches out to grab..red (though this is a more base red) typically expounds "buy" in color theory.

I'd throw some critique on that..I worked with a mechanical, graphic (media of all kinds) and web design firm in sales and marketing...the shadows could be distracting, your actual design is bit large, and will notably catch the eye Over your text..perhaps something to consider (move it to the top, or something).

Very nice biggrin.gif

Nice to hear from another designer biggrin.gif

As for the shadows, right now im just pounding out the final shape, same goes for the text. The style put on the vector shapes, was just one saved preset i made for some other project who knows when. The text was just there to convey the name for now to anyone i show the logo too. Finally layout of how the text and logo flow together, and all that jazz will come once i either make a font, or deicde on a pre-made one, and also get the shape finished.

And thank you for the input and kind words biggrin.gif That goes to everyone.

I'm going with design #2. It gives me the impression of something rising up, and it catches the eye. Just my two cents...

Personally, I think the text would look better on top. Also, it seems odd to have such a very dynamic graphic design as your logo. I think this because many professional artists want a little something to mark a corner of their photo with when they put their stuff out there, but this TALL, and the more you shrink it, the more it will lose its artistry. What if if you did the design so it could wrap around a corner instead taking up such a big chunk of whatever photo you might end up "watermarking" it with? In other words, something that made a 90 degree angle.

I'm a photographer too and I've agonized over a personal design to put on my photos that I publish online but I've never found quite the right thing. The idea of doing something that wraps one corner though appeals to me the more I think about it. Your seven, connecting geometrical/goth shapes could be redesigned to fit a corner quite beautifully, I think. I think it would look good on a business card and stationary that way too... then there'd be room for all your contact info.

Just my .02.

to be honest, I dont really like any of them I like the 3rd one the best. To give constructive criticism don't take it to heart, it just looks like a tribal tattoo or where a stamp would go on a girls back or wrap around some guys sick bicep. I would probably work out some more variation other then the tribal stuff. Just trying to help. Edited by newjacksm
