R1v3th3ad's Next Catch

So I went down to South Side in Pittsburgh today to smoke by the river. On my way through the streets I spotted a shop with hookahs, so I made a mental note to stop back.
So I went to the river, smoked some k-peach outta the MZ and an egyptian bowl, had some old guy ask me to put nht in it(told him to politely go fuck himself), and headed out.

I made it to the shop, I'll tell you it was a noob heaven. They had probably 60+ havana hookahs, one or two rarer myas, and two of the beauty I picked up(second one was missing a section).
So...its four feet tall, four hose, havana size hose ports, 2-3 out of the four hoses were broke(but so what)......and.....$50

He told me its Pakistani...can anyone ID it?(I doubt it lol)

It goes nice with my Indian antique, in the future I'll have pics of the two up.
It needs polished sad.gif

Looks a lot like a cheap indian one that I picked up several years ago. I don't think they're terribly good. Mine looks very similar and has a wooden downstem. Might have been broken off or rotted away on that one. Edited by gruver

Here is mine. It's not 4 feet tall like the one you have, much smaller than that. For all I know, the downpipe might have just been made out of a dowel so it could be used as a normal hookah.
The bowl is quite big, so I'd probably agree it was for tombiek or something like that.

In my unprofessional opinion it's a traditional tombac indian pipe much like what everyone else said. It has all the right qualities to be one, so I can't ID the specific country but I'm willing to bet you might be right on with pak.

that is identical to the one I have...maybe the downstem is just lacking(missing), I'm gonna have to print out a picture of that and see if someone I know can make it...or SCALLI

otherwise I'm gonna get some hose stuff at Home Depot and just use that as a downstem

I like the looks of mine, and I used it for a while as it was my first hookah. I'd never use it again though. Draw is tight, and the four hose ports are a pain unless you use stoppers. It's neat to have around however.

well, Jordanneff's dad is going to fix er up for me...hes got some 1/2inch copper pipe that will fit it once a groove is filed out...then he is gonna sauter(spelling) it in there. Jordan will supervise to make sure the downstem is at a good length

I love metal jar hookahs.

It looks Pakistani, relatively modern, for Tombak, Jurak/Zaghloul.

Why does it look Pakistani and not Indian? It has a hose hook, the pitch of the hose ports look closer to Arabic/Persian for Arab hoses, rather than the funky Indian hoses. Indian pipes tend to be fatter and broader, Pakistani ones are more slender and have a shorter footing.

r1v3th3ad, I was wondering where you buy your stuff in the Pittsburgh area in general? I've found most places to be absurdly over-priced and lacking in terms of selection (carry only 2 or 3 brands, hardly any flavors, and charge considerably more than online prices). I was wondering if you knew of any nice little hole in the walls or places I may not heard of. I've been sticking primarily to ordering online, but it'd be much more convenient to have a place close by to pick stuff up from. Edited by alexforbreakfast

I do most of my shopping online but somethings are done locally for me.

I picked up this hookah at Nick's Imports in South Side, they have a ton of Havana hookahs there and carry Al Fakher

My other shopping I go to Pitaland on Brookline Bvld. Its a market that happens to carry Mya hookahs, bulk natural coals, boxes of three kings that are cheaper than online, Nakhla 250g for $5, Al Fakher 250g for $10, and Skyzzz for $11.
Its a great place, and other cool stuff there if you like middle eastern foods http://www.pitaland.com/
