Thicker Smoke...?

Recommended Posts

So I just got the Anubis classic hookah from Saharasmoke and currently smoking the Hookah-Hookah black label Orange flavor however there is little smoke..its not even thick and it feels like I'm not smoking anything....could there be a defect in the product or something? What do you think is wrong?

A couple of my friends have like 30$ hookahs from gas stations and I can get MASSIVE smoke clouds with it. Why cant I with this 80$ hookah??? sleep.gif

Check the hookah for air leaks. Take the bowl off, put your thumb over the bowl adapter, and suck in with the hose. It shouldn't have any air movement.

Practice makes perfect. You might not have the experience to set up a hookah to smoke extremely well yet. What kind of coal are you using? What kind of bowl are you using? How much tobacco are you putting in? Pictures would help.

Finally, price has little to do with how well a hookah smokes. A $30 Mya QT will smoke better than almost any Sahara Smoke hookah (my opinion).

you're smoking hh black, its not a bad shisha, but not a great one either. heres what you do...
pack it to the top of your bowl, even a little higher, but not by much
foil it
throw on the normal ammount of coal you're using
if its still producing weak smoke after a minute or so, throw some more coal on it, that stuff WILL smoke but theres a fine line between good smoke and burning with hh black.

Check the following things before you smoke next time:

. Make sure the hookah is SEALED from the hose port, the stem/base, and the bowl to the stem.
. Make sure that you have no leaks in your hose, that could be a major issue.
. Check the water level, and make sure that the bottom of the stem is at least 1 inch in the water.
. Change your tobacco, you are not going to get much with Hookah Hookah.
. What coals are you using? How are you doing your holes on the foil? How much are you packing?

Uhh i got kinda same problem here.

I got egyptian style of bowl which is very small, i realized it to work better if covering just the edges with tobacco, so leaving the holes in the middle uncovered.

It still doesnt work perfectly but better.

Its just a 35cm of length and though can it be the problem? Cause i think it doesnt pass air out from anywhere.

if its working better when you don't cover the holes on the bottom of the bowl you're packing it too tight.
take how much you would normally toss into a bowl, put it on a plate or a cereal bowl something like that and fluff it up good with a fork. then toss it in your hookah bowl(head) until its just over the lip of the head, 1/8th inch or so, then foil it and poke your holes. with nakhla I like to poke big holes toothpick sized or so.
test the draw by putting the female end of the head in your mouts and suck air through, if it's restrictive blow air through that usually works. when you get it breathing well throw it on your hookah and toss on a coal or 2.

Thanks for all the replies people. I think the problem is an air leak. When I cover the adapter and suck in, there are some bubbles in the base. Its not crazy amounts of bubbles but there still are some.

I made sure everything is tightly screwed on and plugged in and it still does it. Should there be NO bubbles at all, or are a few normal? Any recomendations? Should I return it for another?

I have an Egyptian and I use the bowl it comes with but recently switched from using a crap metal screen to foil and I get massive clouds using two small golden ql's.

With your thumb over the hole where the bowl goes, and sucking in on the hose, there should be NO bubbles. If it really is only a tiny tiny bit, it shouldn't be screwing with your setup TOO much, but if it's a new hookah, return it.

Might have solved it....

The coles they gave me for free seem really really crappy so I just put 2 coals on the bowl and I'm getting much more smoke. Still not super thick..but honestly like 4x as much as before. My friends' hookahs are prob less then 15" and only require 1 coal...do bigger hookahs(mines 20") require 2 coals each time? or can I buy nicer coals that will do the job with just 1?

Do you still think I should return it (becuz of the bubbles when plugging the adapter, and Saharasmoke does exchanges) or just invest in some better coals and shisha?

btw, thanks for all the help guys!!

not true even with a perfect seal you can still get a bubble or 2, my 35 inch with a perfect seal gets a bubble just because of how much air can be displaced through the stem.

figure out where the leak is, if its just the gasket/grommet between the base and stem replace it, if its in the actual pipe send it back

As Zinite mentioned, cover the top of the hookah with you finger and "take a hit" from the hose, there should be no bubbles.

Tiny, tiny bubbles are ok.
