Pacha
So I ordered my first hookah the night before last (or so) and am expecting it Friday (or so). I decided to stop by the local smoke shop to see if they had any shisha (plus I was looking for decent cigars). I looked around for a bit and after I couldn't find what I was looking for asked the lady. She said that they can't sell it in that shop. I asked why, she said it was a county ordance. What?! What is that crap? Since when is tobacco illegal? I asked a guy at work what he thought, he said it was probabally because it appealed to children. Anyway, I guess the point of this post is for me to ask if there are any similar rules where you guys live, and if anybody knows who I should piss to to get some cheap shisha around here. Thanks. Sonthert
They don't want to sell it and are giving you a convenient excuse. Like:"Can I use your bathroom?""We don't have a bathroom.""Where do you go to the bathroom?""We don't."Its BS...just order it online. Before I started making maasel, I went to the same tobacconist for 10 years. I went there and asked him if he wanted to carry my product and he made up some crummy excuse...really he didn't think it was "real" or "legitamit". Thats their loss. surfpico
A bunch of tobacco shops that I've been to here in VA don't even know what it is. Now that's weird. And here I thought I was the only clueless one.But the place I go to in NY has plenty. These people are wack.
Pacha
They don't want to sell it and are giving you a convenient excuse...
I would have thought the same thing too, but she said that they get some in sometimes and have to throw it out. This would sound bogus too but I worked in retail for a while *cough*bagboy*cough* and I know sometimes we would get shipments in with stuff we didn't order. Sometimes when we ordered from certain companies they would send new a box of a new product regardless of wether or not we ordered it, and we would get stuck with the tab. So in conlusion...I don't know.

Lukasa
Illegal in the USA? Doubtful. Shop is full of BS, yes. This is semi-unrelated but can be attributed to how full of sh*t tobacco shops can be. I was talking to a guy in a cigar shop about cigars, and he mentioned one and i said "oh yeah, that one is tasty, it almost knocked me out with the nicotine though." he insisted that "cigars dont give you a buzz unless you inhale them" me: "yes they do, and i most definitely dont inhale" him: "you're wrong"

c4r80n
I went to a cigar tasting at my local shop and got wicked buzz because everone is smoking inside so you end up inhaling it.But I do also get buzzed from not inhaling, just not super buzzed.Oh and I asked if they carry hookah tobacco and they said no, but a lot of people having been asking for it. (maybe? just maybe?)anyways, the local head shops sell AW and AF and thay like to smoke (altough you can't smoke in their stores)
skiracerj1
Not exactly a county ordinance, but my campus has banned hookahs, and any related items as they put it from all of campus, including dorms and fraternities/ sororities. The cops dont really enforce it, but it is techincally illegal for me to smoke my hookah on campus.
Pacha
The private college I went to last simester was completely smoke free, you couldn't even have tobacco in your dorm. It had to stay in the car. That placed sucked hard.

HookahDuck
The cigar "buzz" is from the nicotine being absorbed through your tounge (which is actually highly receptive to it). Generally, Maduro cigars will yield a much higher buzz than a lighter complexion Natural cigar. The binder and filler also plays a large part.As a general rule, the darker the stick, the more full bodied and stronger buzz it will contain. Sonthert
Jack Daniels is produced in Lynchburg, Tennessee. It is illegal to drink Jack Daniels in the county that Lynchburg sits in, it is a dry county.
Pacha
To drink it? I could believe not being able to buy it, but you can't even drink it? That is outrageous. Don't we have an amendment for that stating that if we are denied alcohol we are to overthrow the government or somthing of the sort?

Pacha
It might be a little more cost effective just to order it off the net, thanks though.
Sariél
Regarding Jack Daniels: You can drink it in Lynchburg, but not buy it.However, the nearest liquor store is "7 miles, 11 steps, and a screen door away". I had a long converstion with the Dir. of Marketing when I called asking what the "Old No7" meant.
