Well the insurance is looking like it's going all FUBAR

1) Sign a form saying Her health hasn't changed. Technically she is all better. But when they find out about Cooks they could drop her completely
2) Refile and hope she gets some kind of coverage after disclosing everything.
3) See if I can get her on my company's insurance... which will freaking bankrupt me.

Uni-Care is driving me F@#)(*$ Crazy!

It's their fault I am in this mess to begin with.

Well here's an update.

Despite the FUBAR Insurance mess, I got my daughter on my insurance...costing me an arm and a leg!

Anyways according to her first radiology report she has Kidney Reflux in both kidneys. They gauge it by stages, Stage 1-5. One Kidney is stage 2. No big deal really she will probably just grow out of that. The other kidney is Stage 4. Which can lead to severe kidney damage. We are going down to Cooks on Thursday...finally seems like freaking forever to get in. The Urologist will probably go over all the options and we will come back for surgery. I praying we don't have to but Stage 4 in one kidney, pretty much guarantees it.

So we finally made it to Cooks Hospital. Good news and Bad news... well sorta.

The Urologist didn't agree with the initial test. He agreed with the Stage 2 but thought the Stage 4 reflux was a stage 3.

So he laid out the 4 options.

1) Take her off antibiotics and watch her and put her back on when another UTI shows up.

2) Continue Low Dose Antibiotics for a year and Re Test.

3) Endoscopic surgery. Out Patient deal.

4) Open Surgery. Go in as a typical surgery and fix the problem.

Well it's not severe enough for 4, and border line for 3. 1 Isn't an option because she got a UTI days after her first one. So #2 it is. Part of me is ecstatic for NO SURGERY, other part is pissed cause we can't fix the problem now. My wife is real concerned because she dosen't want her on Antibiotics that long.

So good news pretty much except for the fact that my wife and I are anxious about waiting a whole year for retesting.

But it's a good day!

Doc called, since the Insurance isn't straightened out, we can't get the referral to Cooks....wonderful...

lawyer time
insurance crooks in action. Not like the moron on the other end of the phone can't fix it in 30 seconds, but they seem to take great joy in jacking with your life at every possibility.

I would be in the wife's corner on the anti-bio too, that is a long time for an infant's liver to be drown in a toxic bath.

Best of wishes for all three of you Stuie.

Glad to hear everything is better than it could have been, if it makes you feel better our youngest was sickly untill about a year and a half and now she's A-OK, perfect health, kids can easily grow out of these things, they're more durable than we give them credit for.
