i am new to hookah and am about to order a 2 hose mya odyssey. i plan on getting a phunnle bowl and diffrent hoses at some point.

will the second hose not in use automatically seal when it is still connected?

will any phunnel bowl work on it?

what kind of hoses can connect to it does it have to be a mya hose?

any information on anything hookah would be great thanks

heres the skinny
1. the auto seal will work when your hose is connected (i assume thats what you asked) so if you and a buddy are smoking you can pull without him having to hold the tip and vice versa.
2. most myas are compatible with any phunnel, ive never run into one that didnt hell even my mya mini works with my phunnel.
3. just about any hose will work with a mya but im not positive about nammor, if someone could answer that t hat knows, im almost positive the nammors will work but they have a HUGE diamater in comparison to the stock mya port. if you find you cant use nammor with your odyssey, mya started producing a line of hoses that are very similar to the nammor, the handles arent quite as exaggerated and much more managable, the diameter of the bottom of the hose is the same as the mya reg but the actual hose is almost double. they're prettty freakin wonderful and cost about the same price

i have herd starbuzz is good but over priced. i am sure i will get some but what are some others that are good? i think i read another popular one is AF and something that starts with a N i cant think of name.

coals? i am going with quick lights any i should stay away from?

well, personally i hate starbuzz the flavors are designer american candy flavors and the smoke is sub par for the price of the shisha

my favorite brand is al waha and with them alot of the flavors are hit or miss with most people
romman is always going to be a consistently good quality smoke but it comes at a slightly higher price (slightly cheaper than starbuzz)

lots of people complain that al waha doesnt get big clouds but ive found with just the right amount of heat most of the flavors will billow clouds of delicious smoke
but al waha is fairly cheap and ive very rarely had any issues with it
the flavors id reccomend are
california dream (a citrus fruit mix)
After nine( chocolate mint)
orange creme
mango
5 star
Arabic Coffee
bounty (chocolate cocoanut kinda...it tastes like a mounds bar)
powerbull (red bull flavored)
sweet melon
double apple (very traditinal flavor)
as for romman
vanilla
ivory coast (grapefruit pineapple)
and a few others but those are my two favorite

for coals id avoid instant lights if you can, basically it works like this
instant light
pro: quickly started
easy to set up
cheap
can be lit with a lighter in your bedroom

cons:
affects shisha flavor (adds a chemical smokey flavor to the shish)
some brands emit large amounts of carbon monoxide so indoors lighting is not advised
die out quickly
can become expensive when compared to some brands of naturals
they have a habit of over heating shisha as the heat is not as evenly distributed

best brands of instants:
golden, CH

naturals/rapd light(natural coals with a light coating to start the cooking)
pros:
no taste changes
the smell they emit when heating is just a coal smell, no Carbon monoxcide nastyness
last alot longer than instants
some brands of natural lights actually light in around the time of a 40mm QL disc
dont overheat the shisha as easily
when they ash they ash in chunks instead of sand
cons:
can take a long time to light (upwards of 5 minutes so really if you light them as you set the bowl and water you should have coals by the time you're done setting the rest up)
depending on the brand can get expensive
some brands dont have set sizes for the pieces so they just come in random chunks
if you dont have a burner, or grill to cook them on or an exposed electric heating element then they're pretty terrible because youcant light em with a lighter or match it takes a constant heat source

best natural brands: exotica fingers or silvers i prefer fingers, coco nara squares, Romman natural lemonwood if you can bare to pay that much for a bag of random sized coals

exotica fingers have always been m yfavorite, for around 10 bucks at most shops or 8 bucks online you get a 1kg box with 5 rows of 5 sticks that each break into 4 pieces needing around 2-2.5 sometimes 3 chunks per bowl refreshing them as necessary they last a long time, and they burn really evenly

ultimately naturals are better but it depends on your situation and where you have to smoke. if you can smoke freely go natural

The namoor fits my mya fine. Mine also came with one open valve (no ball bearing, nice for solo session as it allows you to clear the pipe), and two one-way valves. These all screw in to the hookah or their ports can be plugged with the 3 screw-in plugs provided. Probably wouldn't hurt to make a quick phone call to where ever you're ordering from to confirm.

id go a head and get your nammors with it they're totally worth it, im still beating myself up for not getting one, but im getting my mya equiv friday from a local shop so im excited cause i was getting storm clouds out of the stock non washable

I use nammors with my Mya, they work great, pretty sure any phunnel will work as well. Nakhla is one of my personal favs. Coco Nara natural coals are probly the best to go with. If you have the auto seal hose ports then they should close when not in use, allowing the other hose to flow fine.

I personally think 5 star is nasty, and the candy is just plain gross, but alwaha has in my opinion the best orange flavor on the market, its damn good, and orange cream is even better.
as for hoses, I have my razan plugged into my colossus currently, but it also works well on my QT.
