Spats
A thinking question! Why was the female bowl stem adopted over the male (Syrian) bowl stem?I was much happier watching juices drip into my vase with the male bowl stemthan seeing them run down the outside of the head and accumulate in my ashtray from the female design...Thoughts? ilikemyusername
why did the engine in a volkswagon switch from the back to the front? sounds to me like you just need a better grommet, those juices won't be drouling down the outside of your stem if you have a tight seal. They tend to shift as they heat and often do not center perfectly on the "grommet." The male stem seems to side-step this problem! Also the male stem eliminates the hassle of the grommets flange from sealing nicely if the grommet isn't long enough to penetrate deeply enough (ouch)! mushrat
Id guess more hookahs are made or imported from Egyprt and the style became the most prevelant type. There are few places you can find a syrian (male) Bowls anymore...

I'll say grommet, you say gasket, other call them rubbers (Im not making that up) we all knwo what we mean....It's a grommet so there.
