as terrible as stereotypical as it is, i love to listen to raggae when i toss a set of coals on the hookah

not terrible at all man, there's not much better at the end of a rough day than a hookah, some reggae, and maybe a nice whiskey drink to go with the back porch and a sunset eh?

i'm lebanese and arab music is alright. hossam habib is great. the classics though are def fayrouz, wadih al safi, and of course, um kalthoum. beyond the arabic music though, i really like relaxed stuff. thievery corporation is great lounge music and so is hello seahorse! they're more shoegaze but it provides for a really relaxed session time.

Depends on the style your looking for.
I like the romantic stuff. Sounds fantastic.
And if you want to make sweet love to your hookah;

The video is pure fail but the song is on a level in its own.
If it isn't your style for hookah, then use it for a girl.

I usually like listning to some blues to put me in any hang out moods.
These will be playing when mine finally arrives.
And nothing beats the sound of them playing on vinyl.

muslimgauze is an excellent ambient noise project that is perfect for the smoking ritual.. it ranges from glitchy electronica sounding stuff all the way to groovy almost danceable stuff that makes me at least feel like i am in old world India or something. there is a good deal of his stuff availible through itunes and on some of the p2p sites, good luck finding actual cd's or vynil though as he died a number of years ago and all of his releases were done in small quantities on small indie labels.
