djnick
thehookah.com is the only place that sells them i believe. bulk natural coals are still better than any japanese coals
Sonthert
thehookah.com is the only place that sells them i believe. bulk natural coals are still better than any japanese coals
I disagree. Natural charcoals have sulfur in, which is poisonous and has the net effect of producing more carbon monoxide. Good Japanese coals have much of their sulfur removed.HookahCompany.com has them on order. It may take awhile to get here.
zzzzzT
I used to get nasty headaches from cheap coals when I started smoking four years ago. Now with quality japanese coals this problem is solved. Quality does make a difference!
Alqoshnia
This is the only Japanese Charcoal I found from thehookah.com. Are you sure this is it, because it says Golden, so Im thinkin its the other one Eric reviewed (Golden Japanese Charcoal from Canary Imports)
Alqoshnia
So I guess Id have to wait till HC gets them in eh? Do you know estimate time Eric? maybe 4-6 week range?
djnick
when i talked to tangiers a few weeks ago he said they were on order but he had no idea when they would get them. Im guessing not for a while so dont hold your breath, but when they do come in stock, stock up

Sonthert
Yes, Canary Golden Japanese Charcoal are in, again. Abu Hitham are going to be three months or so. I recommend either Golden Japanese or Magic Coals from Fumari.com for people looking for Japanese coals. Yes, that is the Golden Japanese Coals I was referring to.I will notify you all when AH Japanese coals hit Hookah Company.com

cymptom
Supposedly... I think some guy thought he had found them at www.hookahwholesale.com, and I think Tangiers confirmed that the charcoals pictured on the site appeared to be Abu Haithams. I think the dude ordered some... but I haven't heard anything else about it.
Sonthert
Yeah, they are, but Japan and importers going the long way around the planet...I have no idea, really.
ghostofdavid
I think it has to do with the fact that I've never used them before, but there is just a wrongness about smoking with something the same colour as mercury! MADNESS!!!!!!!!!! I'll probably get some soon.
Sonthert
The albedo of Mercury is .69, I believe, if memory serves me. That would make it somewhat non-reflective. Since it is round, I don't see the comparison between a charcoal tablet and a planet. The ash is more similarly colored to...m, Ceres or some other carbonaceous asteroidal body. I'm getting paid by the word, finally!
joetuo
So what sites should i be checking religously if i want to snag some of this when it gets in??
ghostofdavid
Not the planet, ancient god, American (ha!) car company or anything else as silly... the QUICKSILVER of the chemical world!
Sonthert
Oh. Silly me.I worked for a guy in metal reclamations, he had an old bottle of mercury, about a half gallon...weighed about 50 lbs. Really, really heavy stuff.
ghostofdavid
Was the bottle glass or was it in a metallic canister? I would imagine that a glass bottle wouldn't take a whole lot of stress to shatter. I had a giant jar-o-pennies as a young boy. I haunched over, picked it up, and only pulled up half the jar as it cracked from the weight. Man, I wish I could say I was smarter now than then... but I'd be lying!Ahhh, the good ole days. Sonthert
Heaviest jar, I'd ever seen...it looked like it was made of brown bullet-proof bank glass...the jar must have weighed five pounds by itself.
